About this role
As a Senior Tech Lead for Aladdin Product Group (APG). You will help to design and develop the next stage of the Aladdin Trading Platform. The Aladdin Trading System consists of applications built using a micro-services architecture and utilizes technologies like C#, C++, Java, Golang and web technologies like React/Typescript. The team's responsibilities include order management, execution management, pre and post trade analytics, algorithmic trading and liquidity discovery. The team focuses on delivering best-in-class enterprise trading solution for all financial products on one global real-time platform. We are a global team with people based in New York, London, San Francisco, Gurgaon and Budapest. Aladdin is an investment platform as a service used to manage more than $15 trillion by clients of Aladdin.

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock's hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week; some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities. Your responsibilities:

- Own multiple areas of a new distributed trading platform, delivering new features and improvements with multiple technologies and business partners.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers in coding best practices.
- Implement and adjust Agile SDLC standard methodologies to enable and improve team's efficiency.
- Providing quant engineers and investment researchers with technical advice and guidance on our systems.
- Pioneer prototyping and introduction of new alpha-enabling technology to the platform.
- Supporting daily operations of the platform and ensuring stability and availability through maintenance and upgrades.
- Partnering with other engineering teams at BlackRock to integrate with the broader Aladdin platform.

- Experience mentoring leading engineers to deliver sophisticated software products.
- Proven record of architecting and delivering scalable, extensible and maintainable software following coding and design architecture best practices.
- Experience building full stack systems with languages and frameworks such as C#, C++, Java, Angular/React, Golang.
- Expertise in cloud native technologies and design of applications that are deployed to cloud infrastructure.
- A real passion for Automated Testing - unit, integration, regression
- Proficient user of CI/CD tools such as Git, Maven, GitLab, Jenkins, and CI/CD
- At ease discussing Object-Oriented Analysis, and Design, including an opinion on Design Patterns
- A Strong software engineering mind set. This includes practices such as agile, test automation, object-oriented design, design patterns and release management.
- Good interpersonal and mentoring skills.
- Ability to apply mathematics, machine learning or quantitative analysis to solve complex problems and deliver innovative solution.
- A genuine curiosity and appetite to learn: equities, fixed income, derivatives, hedge funds or investment risk.
- A deep understanding of hedge fund strategies and signals that drive them
- Design strategies to build a high performance, real-time trading platform at scale
- Strong Agile process methodologies
- Leadership and strong interpersonal skills
