About this role

What is the opportunity?

We are recruiting for a newly formed Core Risk Management (Core RM) group, whose objective it is to advance risk management practices at BlackRock, delivering scale and resilience to the risk management platform. This opportunity is to join the Core Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Reporting & Operations team within Core RM, which is responsible for the execution and delivery of multiple Core ERM, Board and oversight committee and regulatory processes and reports. The team will also participate in generating efficiencies by running automation projects on the various report production processes they own.

Core RM is part of the Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group, which provides independent oversight of BlackRock's fiduciary and enterprise risks globally.

What will you and your team be doing?
  • Lead an efficient Reporting & Operations team that meets committed deliverables and have the flexibility to pick up ADHOC reporting requirements and tasks.
  • Perform the task to consistently deliver on time, high-quality reports and analytics to the various Enterprise Risk Committees, Board of Directors, and regulators, i.e., OCC.
  • Proactive and accountable for identifying, measuring, and presenting production issues and risks
  • Actively support, liaise, and collaborate with RQA teams across locations and with other department SMEs (technical leads and business analyst)
  • Enable the team to have advance skills in generating printed and visual reports using various Microsoft tools (i.e., Excel, Power point and Power BI)
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date process flow documents for all tasks related to assigned processes
  • Constantly evaluate systems, processes, and procedures for inefficiencies, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead and complete various efficiency and capacity-building initiatives, including automation/ standardization efforts.

  • 3+ years relevant experience to be able to lead a reporting and operations team
  • Have proven project and change management skills to develop and implement solutions
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to breakdown complex ideas in simple terms to influence outcomes
  • Enthusiasm and energy combined with a constant desire to innovate and challenge the status quo to drive operational excellence
  • Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science or Technology
  • Advance Excel, Power point and running other MS tools
  • Must be skilled in Python, SQL and Power BI with a good knowledge of VBA

Our hybrid work model
