Our client is in the infrastructure business and are looking to hire a capable and technically sound treasury accountant to join their Sydney office.

This is an urgent role; we are interviewing now for a start next week.

The duties include:

* Processing of periodic swap and loan payments incorporating revaluations, internal and investor approval processes, payment upload, authorisation and releases.

* Accurate and timely creation and processing of treasury transactions and its managed investments, including, but not limited to:
• interest and principal payments for debt facilities;
• business unit funding;
• rate resetting;
• distributions;
• assistance in processing and accounting of general activities (e.g. accounts payable, payroll and banking);
• FX currency amounts for AP and Capex Projects;
• FX travel allowances; and
• Bank Cheques.

* Prepare relevant general ledger account reconciliations in Blackline system.

* Assist with maintaining treasury management systems.

* Assist with maintaining Banking Systems.

* Assist with maintenance of the bank signatory lists ensuring it is up to date in accordance with the respective Finance Policies.

* Assist in the preparation of month end tasks such as AASB139/9, bank journals, valuation & effectiveness testing, interest allocations.

* Comply with Treasury Risk Management Policy, Hedge Accounting Policy and other Finance Policies.

* Actively maintain Bank Guarantee Register.

* Other financial accounting support to the Senior Treasury Accountant, including but not limited to cash flow forecasting and reporting (e.g. separate identification of proceeds from borrowings / repayment of borrowings).

* Assist Treasury Analyst with interest and borrowing costs budgeting and forecasting and preparation of Compliance Certificates as required for managed investments.

* Assist with ad hoc treasury accounting functions as requested.

Experience

* Tertiary Accounting, Commerce, or Business qualification.

* CPA or CA qualification.

* Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively at multiple levels across the organisation and externally; by building and developing relationships based on trust, integrity, and credibility.

* Sound communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.

* Sound analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a range of accounting policies.
