Our leading business services firm in Melbourne, Australia, providing high-quality financial and corporate services to a wide range of clients across various industries. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Accounting and acting as 2IC our client is looking for a Senior Manager to join their team and manage their external financial reporting service.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver a high-quality external financial reporting service including preparation of AASB and ASX compliant financial statements to a portfolio of clients, across a variety of industries.
• Manage the entire external financial reporting process for your allocated clients from planning, audit management & oversight, financial statement comment review and processing.
• Ensure that financial records are maintained in compliance with lawful and accepted procedures and policies.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts based upon financial information that is compiled and analysed within Australian and International Accounting Standards.
• Manage the preparation of the audited annual and interim financial statements in accordance with the relevant AASB accounting standards and the relevant regulatory disclosure requirements.
• Review the financial statements to ensure a quality financial statement product is produced.
• Responsible for the preparation of technical accounting papers and supporting documents such as lease accounting, share based payments, conversion options, revenue recognition, asset impairment reviews etc.
• Ensure that all financial reporting deadlines are met, internally and externally as per ASX and Australian Securities and Investments Corporation (ASIC) requirements including semi-annual & annual reports as well as accounting standards application to commercial transactions.
• Capable of using an array of software and tools to assist with the preparation and documentation of financial statements.
• Liaise with clients, financial professionals including auditors, tax professionals, legal providers on accounting tasks and corporate transactions.

Requirements:

• ACA or CPA qualified.
• Strong knowledge of AASB accounting standards.
• Background in Audit is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Companies Act and ASX listing rules relating to financial reporting.
• Ability to multi-task and be comfortable with managing difficult situations as they arise.
• Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, auditors at all levels.
• Experience of working to deadlines.
• Significant accounting experience (7+ years) preferably in audit or business advisory, with ASX-listed experience.
• Strong group consolidation and financial reporting experience, preferably ASX, including financial statement experience (preparing footnotes/disclosures).
• Advance level in Excel and other Microsoft Office Products (Access, PowerPoint, and Word).
• Understanding of Xero and Accurri applications.
