Principal / Senior ESG Officer (Infrastructure Financing and Securitisation)

HKMC commenced its business in the area of Infrastructure Financing and Securitisation (IFS) since 2019. To support the growing business, we are now inviting high-calibre individuals to consider the mentioned openings in our IFS Division.

Job Description:

• Support the division in defining portfolio strategies from an energy transition and E&S perspective;
• Implement the IFS climates strategy and undertake, develop and enhance E&S policies and formulate disclosure requirements;
• Work with external consultants, internal and external stakeholders (including the borrowers) to drive the implementation of the TCFD related disclosure requirements;
• Handle complaints or inquiries related to the ESG matters of IFS transactions and work with the stakeholders including the sponsor, borrower or consultant to formulate amicable solutions;
• Act as the subject matter expert in conducting ESG related due diligence on new transactions and lead the team to monitor and track the ESG related performance of the existing portfolio;
• Managing due diligence process by potential investors in future ILBS issuances in relation to ESG matters;
• Coordinate with the ESG Committee and Sustainability Working Group to implement agreed work plans, and
• Research on sustainability topics, foster sustainability knowledge and identify business opportunities for IFS.

Requirement:

• Degree holder preferably in risk management, ESG or finance-related disciplines;
• At least 8 years' experience in multilateral agencies, renowned institutional banks, institutional investors or advisory firms with ESG related exposure;
• Proven track record in managing external ESG consultants;
• Strong analytical and excellent stakeholder engagement skills. Ability in handling complex projects or transactions and documentation preferred;
• Excellent communication and presentation capabilities; and
• High proficiency in English. Fluency in other languages is an advantage.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Senior ESG Officer.
