The Role: Senior Immigration Paralegal

The Team:
The U.S. Immigration Team at S&P Global provides end-to-end immigration legal support for the company's entire U.S. workforce. We are a collaborative group that bridges immigration compliance with business practicality and are looking for a new team member to dive in and help us build-out a robust, compliance-focused program that employees and businesses can rely on for quick and effective guidance.

The Impact:
The Sr. Immigration Paralegal will play a key role supporting our Global Mobility transfers to the United States with a primary focus on intracompany transferee visas.

What's in it For You:
We have an exciting new in-house opportunity for an immigration paralegal experienced with both NIV and IV matters but are looking primarily for a writer to take on a leading role in our intracompany transferee visa and EB-1 green card program.
  • Take a lead working with businesses, HR, and other stakeholders on our intracompany transferee program as well as handling complex virtual working and compliance scenarios.
  • Be writing creative legal arguments, not just working on templates.
  • Balance business needs with a people-first mindset.
  • Play a role in policy development and program management.
Responsibilities:
Looking for a candidate who independent, detail oriented, willing to learn and to be part of a team that is committed to providing excellent legal services.
  • Serve as an immigration lead and direct employee contact for the Company's immigration program. Must be able to independently prepare H-1B, L-1, PERM, I-140 and AOS materials from intake to filing.
  • Liaise with businesses, HR, and foreign national employees regularly. Provide excellent, sensitive, and responsive client service.
  • Must be comfortable hosting calls with managers and the employees to advise on NIV and IV processes, and the challenges of the immigration climate.
  • Escalate issues or problems appropriately to Immigration Program Manager, Immigration Attorney(s) or outside counsel.
  • Prepare RFE responses in collaboration with Immigration Attorney, Program Manager, and/or outside counsel.
  • Work closely with the Immigration Legal Team members on strategies and best practices for NIV and IV cases, and Company compliance projects (i.e., I-9 audits and Public Access File maintenance).
  • Keep the database management systems updated and accurate with new legal notices, filings, and expirations.
  • Maintain status reports to track heavy case load volume as well as monitor expiration dates, filing deadlines, and priority dates.
What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years of corporate immigration experience working directly with foreign national clients, HR, and businesses to prepare H-1B, PERM, L-1, I-140 (including multinational manager), AOS and RFE responses.
  • Experience writing and preparing legal arguments, especially in the L-1 category.
  • Must have experience with immigration database systems, i.e. LawLogix, Tracker, etc.
Preferred Qualification:
  • Experience creating new immigration templates and self-service toolkits.
  • Proficiency in reporting and data-based analytics to steer program management.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $58,300 to $115,850. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
