Your Responsibilities:
- Lead support in cash management activities for clients
- Assist with trading for client portfolio’s
- Support Portfolio Manager in research related activities
- Progress to sector specialist, maintaining an advanced level of knowledge of assigned sector(s)
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research and analysis of relevant companies; continually review existing investments and generate new investment ideas
- Prepare financial statement models and projections used to determine equity valuations, supporting your understanding of the sector and your investment recommendations
- Prepare verbal and written reports on companies and communicate your investment thesis to the investment committee
- Actively and regularly communicate with the Investment Committee regarding company/industry news and developments and investments in the sector(s)
- Keep current on political and economic trends and events which could impact investment decisions
- Create and maintain positive relationships within and outside the investment team
- Willing to focus on what matters most (client centered, able to disagree without being disagreeable)
Your Requirements:
- 2+ years’ relevant industry experience
- Undergraduate degree within a relevant discipline
- Completed Level 1 CFA; MBA is a positive consideration
- Demonstrated analytical and research skills
- Proficient in valuation, financial modeling and excel
- Sound knowledge of corporate finance and equity markets
- Self-motivated, results driven and able to work independently
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Familiarity with Bloomberg an asset
