Job Purpose:
The role will report to the London-based Global Head - Data Strategy and Transformation. The role will be cover two
- Develop the internal data strategy advisory and execution model for the Group Data Office's Data Strategy and Transformation function
- Partner with Business and Corporate functions, as well as SMEs within the GDO to develop and align functional and cross-functional data initiatives with Group data strategy and framework requirements
Scope includes but is not limited to the following:
- Data strategy definition, including its vision, objectives, and key results
- Data operating model / organisation design
- Data architecture & infrastructure
- Data lifecycle management, including risk and control management
- Data solutions
- Project responsibilities will vary depending on the requirements of the partnering functions, but could include:
- Performing assessment of data capability & maturity assessment
- Facilitating interviews and workshops
- Performing analysis to derive recommendation
- Advise on data management solutions or data management
- Designing data roadmap, policies, standards and guidelines
- Stakeholder management. Single point of contact for partnering functions, including building relationships with key stakeholders to influence and guide their data roadmap, establishing communication and guide stakeholders in navigating GDO SMEs.
- Data Strategy & Advisory capability development within GDO, which may include:
- Identifying and researching business development opportunities on new or existing functions and aiding the development of proposals
- Contributing to internal / external-facing thought leadership
- Developing data methodologies and accelerators to enhance GDO delivery capability
- Supporting training of GDO resources in data methodologies
- Team management. Oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of a team of data transformation leads and provide mentorship to junior team members.
You will have a passion for data. You will bring your aptitude for problem solving and change to enable partnering functions to achieve their business outcomes.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in Data Strategy and / or Data Management
- A strong understanding of Data Strategy, Data Management, and Data Analytics principles, and one or more of industry-standard Data Management methodologies and capability models (e.g. DCAM, CDMC) and toolsets
- Consulting experience at a top-tier consultancy, or a similar internal change / transformation role within a leading Financial Services organisation
- A background in Financial Services (e.g. banking, insurance, investment management)
- Experience leading small projects and teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with strong experience and comfort working autonomously and in team environments
- Strong experience in simplifying complex concepts, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
- Experience working in demanding cultural change environments, with a high level of commitment and drive, including whilst under pressure and in ambiguous circumstances
