Job Description
Monticello Associates is seeking a thoughtful, self-motivated, and highly principled individual to serve as an Investment Analyst. In this role, the individual will support both the consulting team and research team through client engagements and investment manager due diligence. This role requires direct client communication; executing client-related projects; conducting asset allocation studies and quantitative analysis; meeting with investment managers; generating research reports; and preparing quarterly client materials. As an Analyst, you will be tasked with analyzing traditional and alternative investments within the context of a client's portfolio and providing thoughtful and strategic insight based on current market environments and specific client needs.
Responsibilities include:
Partnering with and supporting a small team of consultants responsible for advising a wide variety of endowments, foundations, and family offices. Evaluating and guiding investment strategy and planning for client portfolios, as well as helping to implement the long-term goals of the firm’s clients. Working closely with the research team and serving as generalist across multiple asset classes by engaging in investment manager research and due diligence. Building quantitative analyses and thoughtful reports related to relevant market activity, as well as client and manager portfolio metrics. Anticipating client needs based on market environment and responding to ad hoc requests with a highly-tailored approach. Quarterly preparation of client materials and presentations, as well as assistance with RFPs and onboarding materials. Fostering an environment of communication, collaboration, and mutual respect for internal teams and external partners.
Skill and Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate who is a dynamic thinker and team player. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines. Candidates should be comfortable in a client-facing role and should take a “client-first” approach to managing day-to-day requests.
Seeking 2 – 4 years of experience in the financial services sector. Undergraduate degree required, CFA preferred / Level II in process.
