THE COMPANYThey are an exciting international private equity / venture capital company whose main operation is based in London managing $1.8bn of investments in 6 funds, having grown their AUM valuation from $480m in the last 2 years. They have fast growth plans and last year raised, due to their success and performance, over $500m. They are now raising a third fund of over $1bn due to their unprecedented following and success. The company is going through a massive growth phase and it is likely to see other investment vehicles being added to the structure in the near term. In terms of progression, the company has plans for significant growth and it is likely that the right person will have the opportunity to evolve and grow their role as the business grows.

THE ROLEAs part of its growth, a new role has been created to work alongside the CFO and the Group Financial Controller to assist in running the day-to-day financial affairs of the UK operations, to be involved in Group reporting and to help ensure implementing best practice in terms of improving existing systems and in generally strengthening the overall control environment. This is likely to be a varied role due to the wide responsibilities of the Finance department and it will include significant liaison with and oversight of the work of the local accountants of subsidiaries and to ensure consistency of approach and maintenance of high standards. This is a role with substantial responsibility and accountability and will include timely and accurate financial reporting, cash management, provision of financial information to the Board and stakeholders, budget preparation, evaluating financial performance, responding to ad hoc requests and making commercial recommendations to increase the profitability of the business. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDYou will need to meet the following criteria:
- Recently qualified ACA / ACCA / CA qualified (6 months-36 months PQE) who is either looking to make their first move out of practice from a top 10 firm or has moved in the last 18 months into a central finance role within industry;
- Previous knowledge of venture capital / private equity is not needed and ACA/CA candidates with any type of industry experience will be considered in this group corporate role;
- Strong technical accounting skills and eye for detail;
- Excellent communicator and strong professionalism;
- Good written English;
- Strong systems skills: especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Financial process and control conscious;
- Open to change and challenge as the business grows;
- Having a very organised mind and able to work without close supervision;

- Group / Corporate Financial Control and Reporting (Group and UK entity) including involvement in the Group's financial accounting processes and Group Consolidation and reporting as well as the Group's monthly and quarterly financial reporting and the production of the quarterly management pack. The production of the Group's annual reports and audited financial statements and coordination of the Group's external audit process and assisting in the audit for the UK entities.
- Oversight of local accountants in the international local jurisdictions, coordinating their efforts and ensuring timely delivery of the finance/accounting processes. Assisting in management of the outsource finance team resources, as well as the finance team in the other local business units across the globe, creating a best in class function.
- Review of overall recharges to the various Funds and ensure adherence to the respective Funds' policies.
- Monitor and action transfer-pricing for intra-group recharges
- Timely delivery of outputs and processes
- Ensure adherence across the Group to accounting policies (GL, cross-charges). System administrator to the Group's accounting system/policies
- Assessment and monitoring of Regulatory Capital, capacity for distributions from Group entities
- Timely delivery of the Group FCA reporting
- Financial Planning and Analysis including assisting management with decision support
- Assist the GFC in the Group's budget cycle, the production of the Group's annual plan and the ongoing monitoring of actual performance vs budget and forecasts. Ongoing maintenance of the rolling forecasts
- Promote measures to improve financial performance and advise changes to budget
- Preparation of other ad-hoc financial analysis in support of the Front Office and Executive Committee
- Continuous enhancement and improvement of management reporting; working with other areas of the business including IT and data services to improve data quality and develop new reports
- Banking and Cash Management including assisting the GFC to develop and maintain accurate cash flow projections. Making recommendations regarding capital calls and returns and managing cash distributions to stakeholders
- Taxation and Transaction Support including managing the Group's tax compliance obligations, including the review of tax returns prepared by external advisors
- Transactional finance including oversight of the Group's accounts receivable and payable process and oversight of the Group's transfer pricing arrangements and calculate internal management fees
- Involvement with key transactions (acquisitions / disposals / financings / restructurings)

- Identify, design and implement management information systems and processes' enhancements
- Maintain awareness of IFRS and other developments relating to financial reporting
