The Role Responsibilities
  • Financing & Securities Services (FSS) business has a unique footprint in Asia, Middle East, and Africa, and offers a growing range of products, including direct custody, international custody, funds services, trustee services, transfer agency, prime services, and agency securities lending, to several client sectors including banks, investors, intermediaries, sovereigns, fund managers insurance companies and corporates.
  • The jobholder is primarily responsible for Strategic planning, product development, Profit and loss, governance and compliance for Securities Service Product for Standard Chartered in Hong Kong.
Strategy
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new products or segment.
  • Responsible for articulating the Hong Kong custody and fund services product strategy and its delivery.
  • Develop jointly with the Sales team a local strategy to meet country objectives, in line with the overall Securities Services strategy.
  • Understanding customer needs and develop the client value propositions that will address them across all client segments.
  • Drive the Market Advocacy agenda with the regulators and infrastructures for the Securities Services business.
  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis to capture the opportunities, mitigate the threats and deliver financial performance. Recommend and plan actions to build or reinforce our competitive edge.
Business
  • Review and assisting standard product pricing and monitor collection of fees and NII for the product line Assist in implementation of customized client's requirements.
  • Provide product solutions, recommendation, knowledge & support to countries for new product initiatives, complex deals or RFPs.
  • Review risk, commercial feasibility and Business Approval Process to ensure the firm maintains competitive pricing policies and tariff structure.
  • Propose new initiatives to regional management and central product teams for investment approvals.
  • Provide product solutions, recommendation, knowledge & support for new product initiatives, complex deals or RFPs.
Processes
  • Coordinate initiatives on budgetary application and prioritisation.
  • Work with all stakeholders to launch new/enhance product commercialisation.
  • Participate to development and implementation of SS & CAT strategy.
  • Oversight of risk and governance in alignment with Securities Services.
People & Talent
  • Provide/arrange training and ongoing support to securities services sales (for new products) and to the local product management team for existing and new product offerings.
Risk Management
  • Work closely with operations and vendors to ensure that quality of service to customers remains superior.
  • Oversight of risk and governance in alignment with Securities Services.
  • Assist in oversight and execution of required due diligence on internal and external service providers.
Governance
  • Review exception risk acceptance application and ensure that local product programmes and Product Program Governance database as per zero tolerance guidelines.
  • Provide assistance to internal and external audit.
  • Function as liaison and update with Regional/Group functional streams on all product matter.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Takes personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • At least Post Graduate education level.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in Securities business.
  • Good exposure with relevant Hong Kong local regulatory requirement (MPFO, SFO, ORSO and UT code) and good knowledge on operations covering either custody and/or Fiduciary and Fund Services.
  • Business, Accounting and/or Legal diploma/degree preferred.
  • Strong business sense, independent, Control minded, detail-oriented and strong analytical skills.
  • A good team player.
  • Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin and Business communication skills.
