Investment Analyst

We are seeking an entry Investment Analyst to join our team of professionals in a Registered Investment Advisory firm. In this role you will assist in research and trading efforts, gain a working understanding of portfolio management, interface with clients in person or via phone/email/video, and perform administrative duties. To be successful in this position, the candidate must be self-motivated, intellectually curious, able to problem solve, and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Investment research in a variety of topics
• Initially, assisting in trading efforts, and later progressing towards assuming trading responsibilities in client accounts (stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.)
• Participation in investment meetings. Candidate will gain experience with the framework of portfolio management and investment selection
• Reporting: both ad-hoc reporting to assist research efforts and using client portfolio reporting software to assist with portfolio management
• Interfacing with clients: candidate will be asked to communicate with clients in-person, and via email/phone/video.
• Other administrative and technology-related tasks

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree (STEM/finance/economics/accounting preferred)
• Progress in the CFA program a plus
• Investment management industry or financial analysis experience a plus
• Comfortable thinking quantitatively
• General working understanding of financial markets
• Above average computer skills, with competency in MS Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to relay complex ideas clearly
• Attention to detail, accountability, and excellent follow-up
• Able to manage multiple projects at once
