What will you be doing?

• On behalf of Principal Investments business of global financial services firm, originate, structure and execute strategic growth equity investments by deploying proprietary capital.
• Specialize in growing technology companies, primarily across financial technology and enterprise software companies.
• Align investments with the medium to long-term objectives of the business.
• Review valuation process, ensuring that inputs and calculations are correct and that there is a robust control environment.
• Pitch growth investment and disposal opportunities to investment committee, perform screening and due diligence, negotiation and structuring terms for direct equity, mezzanine debt and fund investment.
• Drive transactions from origination to closing both through external negotiation working with advisors, as well as interfacing with internal systems, which includes 'Know Your Customer' requirements, trading systems and funding.
• Sit on the boards of portfolio companies exercising fiduciary duty and work with and challenge portfolio company management teams.
• Work closely with the management of portfolio companies to drive organic growth, assess bolt-on acquisition opportunities and deliver a meaningful exit.
• Build and maintain strong network with internal stakeholders and business executives to ensure that equity investments align with and drive value for the core business.

What we're looking for:

Requires Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Economics, Finance, or related field and at least four (4) years of experience in role offered or as an Analyst, Investment Executive, or related for a global financial services firm. In the alternative, employer will accept Bachelor's degree in stated fields and at least six (6) years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in stated occupations. Must have at least two (2) years of experience with each of the following required skills: Preparing, reviewing, and presenting valuation models for early stage companies; Performing portfolio management and monitoring of companies, and identifying and targeting potential investment opportunities; Pitching growth investment and disposal opportunities, and approving acquisition, disposal and portfolio management decisions; Performing screening and due diligence, negotiation, and structuring terms for direct equity, mezzanine debt and fund investment; and Working with trade booking systems, including compliance and entity management platform and ticket preparation system, to run and assist with trade execution. Must have knowledge of investment committee process; international investment business including data science, artificial intelligence, capital markets and electronic trading business units; valuation process, including controls and risk management practices.

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our New York, New York location at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the façade of the building. The building is easily accessible to Restaurants, Shops and Public Transportation.

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
