Venture Partner, Global Deep-Tech Venture Capital

Our client is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial individual with C-level experience in managing high-growth deep tech startups to join their team as a Venture Partner. In this role, you will play a crucial part in incubating new ventures and providing active support to portfolio companies. As a player-coach, you will execute and manage various stages of startup incubation, offering guidance to entrepreneurial founders of new ventures and management teams of existing companies. Additionally, you will contribute to the evaluation of new investments.

Responsibilities:

• Incubate and support new ventures, working closely with founders and management teams.
• Craft a vision and business plan, leveraging problem statements, market opportunities, talent, and IP/proprietary technologies.
• Develop and execute strategies for high-growth deep tech startups in their foundational stages.
• Build new teams and foster a strong startup culture.
• Fundraise for and provide governance to early-stage deep tech ventures.
• Synthesize complex information and communicate clearly and concisely.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in a scientific or engineering discipline from a top-tier academic institution.
• Extensive experience collaborating with leading scientific and technical specialists across various scientific and engineering disciplines.
• 15+ years of experience in the deep tech sector as an operator and/or investor, including 7+ years of C-level experience in deep tech startups (CEO, COO, CTO, CBO, CPO, CCO).
• Proven track record in creating new businesses from concept to market or exit.
• Significant experience in deep tech VC fundraising and strong networks in the U.S.
• Prior experience with governance of early-stage deep tech ventures, ideally as a board director or board observer.
• Strong global experience.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Creative mindset with exceptional proactive problem-solving skills.
