Vice President, Global Lending Controllers, New York

Controllers Divisional Overview:
Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. In the Controllers Department, our professionals:
  • Measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm's business,
  • Review the firm's activities to ensure they are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.
  • Analyze returns to comment on trends and drivers, and to aid in strategic business and management decisions
Global Lending Controllers:

A group within the broader Controllers organization responsible for reporting, analyzing and providing commentary on the firm's lending products ranging from corporate to consumer related activities.

As a member of the Global Lending Controllers, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders across the firm to understand the impacts of various business activities. Global Lending Controllers are self starters and subject matter experts in lending products who provide real-time business KPIs and external and management reporting (earnings call, SEC filings, etc.). If you have an appetite for problem solving, intuition for process improvement and desire to analyze key metrics, all at the intersection of finance & technology, this is the group for you.

Your Impact:

The Team is looking for a Vice President to join the Global Lending Controllers. In this role, you will leverage a diverse skill set including financial analytics, product expertise, and a risk management mindset as you analyze profitability and capital usage. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and ethical team player who will consistently produce accurate analytical work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication, collaboration, technical expertise, judgement and keen analytical skills

Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily, monthly, and quarterly P&L and capital reporting to build knowledge and expertise across various Lending business lines
  • Perform and comment on regular analysis of portfolio and macro market trends
  • Partner with businesses, risk & regulatory counterparts to understand the impacts of various business activities
  • Develop strong knowledge of regulatory rules and product functionality across the loans product segment in order to onboard, support, and manage ongoing and new business activities
  • Become the subject matter expert to advise on accounting, capital, regulatory, Controllers infrastructure & reporting considerations across various lending products
  • Coordinate across Technology, Project Managers, Risk & Others to identify enhancements & improve workflows that lead to automation, capital reduction and/or more transparent risk management practices
  • Drive and own ad hoc projects & analysis as required
Basic Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in Finance, Data Analytics, Risk Management, or similar role
  • MS Office strong proficiency (Excel & PowerPoint) required
  • Results-oriented and pro-active, self-starter mentality
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry / product knowledge of loans / Risk Management practices
  • Ability to handle multiple, time-sensitive projects while focusing on the quality of work delivered
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a knack for anomalies in metrics
  • Strong communications skills - listening, written, and verbal
  • Strong presentation skills; able to put together commercial, creative presentations for management across a wide range of topics

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $115000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
