Commercial Finance Manager - PE backed Tech - London (flexible/hybrid working)

Cedar have an exclusive highly commercial FM role with a well-known fast-paced Tech business - this is the most commercial role in the UK Finance team.

Following a high-profile acquisition 2 years ago by impressive PE investors who operate a strong portfolio in the Tech market, this fast-paced business has been undergoing a business wide transformation with a new punchy Senior Leadership Team (SLT) being appointed to drive ambitious growth plans and further international expansion. Having now done so successfully - the UK business has tripled their customer base and seen 50% year on year revenue growth to £150m, as well as 50% growth in EBITDA these last 2 years - with similar numbers being forecasted for this year!

This Finance Business Partnering role will report into, and be the 2ic, to the Commercial Finance Director, helping to drive revenue growth and build on the commercial offering to the UK business, with full P&L responsibility. This is a pure commercial role where you will Business Partner the UK MD, Heads of Sales & Marketing, covering the full spectrum of commercial finance including profitability analysis, business cases, KPI tracking, brand generation etc.

This critical role will lead the strategic and operational Financial aspects of the UK consumer business, partnering closely with business leaders to understand revenue, marketing ROI, sales channels analysis, operating drivers and economic challenges, translating them into insights to unlock commercial value for the UK. There is also the potential to hire a Commercial Finance Analyst in the future.

The Senior Finance leaders and UK FD are ambitious, supportive, and true leaders who provide real autonomy to manage workload but strive to share their knowledge and coach where necessary, being known to rapidly develop team members. The Commercial FD is looking to train and offer progression and career growth to a high performer, so this truly is a growing business to build a long-term career in and grow with, as the business continues it's growth with new products and revenue streams in the pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be the lead business partner to the UK Managing Director and the rest of the UK Commercial business leaders including Head of Marketing & Sales
  • Drive foresight on Return of Investment (ROI) with Operations, Commercial and MD
  • Lead on profitability and cost analysis, and measuring and tracking performance against KPIs
  • Ownership of the UK Planning Cycle including Budget, Forecast, and Long Term Plan
  • Ownership of supporting material for monthly Chief Executive update meetings: Country Review Pack & Supporting papers
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis and presentations for the PE owners and C-Suite, including Group CFO/CEO/COO

Essential experience you will need to be considered for this role:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Strong commercial finance / FP&A experience
  • Experience engaging and influencing Senior stakeholders (Directors / C-suite)
  • A true 'people person' - someone with the confidence to build trust with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation in a fast-paced and dynamic Tech scale-up environment
