Job Summary
Structuring and executing commercial real estate financing transactions. Execution of financing transactions covering all aspects required for successful closure of transactions. Assessment on the eligibility of approving lending transactions based on the delegated credit approval chain. Assessment of third party reports in order to determine whether specific properties will provide adequate protection and suitable security for loans and syndicated loans. Reviewing financial modelling and debt capacity for the real estate transactions. Preparation and review of internal credit risk approval papers including Business Credit Applications and Preliminary Screening Reviews. Perform deal economics and the pricing of facilities. Review, and monitoring of the real estate portfolio in the US internally. Review independent appraisals and valuations, financials covenants and risk triggers on real estate loans. Compose term sheets for transactions. Manage deal from inception to closing.

  • Actively participate to further build out the Financing Solutions and Global Credit Markets strategy for the
  • Americas, which aims to maximise shareholder value, identifies, and creates areas of competitive advantage and aligns to the overall strategic direction of the wider business.
Business
  1. Commercial Real Estate
  • Structuring and executing commercial real estate (CRE) transactions alongside CRE Industries team and Financing Risk; winning mandates through understanding of client needs, structuring, tailoring and negotiating of appropriate financing solutions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to structure and price real estate loans with the goal of maximizing profitability and minimizing use of balance sheet.
  • Ensure mandates are properly and expediently executed to the highest standards
  • Work closely with CRE Industry Bankers to up-tier key client relationships and help propagate an advisory culture
  • Support the CRE Industry Bankers to initiate and develop new relationships with target clients and develop and maintain existing client relationships
  1. Loan Syndications
  • Originate Syndicated Loan deals in Americas, with focus on CRE, aligned to the overall strategic direction of Global Credit Markets and CCIB
  • Manage the Loan Syndications processes, ensuring compliance with applicable internal policies, and external laws and regulations, and operating within risk tolerance and risk appetite.
  • Responsible for production and distribution of marketing materials and communications to clients in relation to Loan Syndications products

  • Efficiently executing originated transactions by working closely with CIB and other product partners, Legal, Compliance, Credit, Loans & Agency and obtaining all requisite approvals.
  • Working with internal and external lawyers to work through structural / regulatory issues and to negotiate documentation in line with SCB standards and approvals.
  • Ensure appropriate balance across the matrix of roles and responsibilities to ensure optimal outcome across businesses, processes and governance.

Risk Management
  • Responsible for origination and structuring of syndicated loans, ensuring transaction structures (senior mortgage, A/B notes, mezzanine financing) are marketable
  • Ensures the Financing Solutions business in the Americas is carried out within the Group's risk appetite and reputational and credit risks are appropriately managed in conjunction with direct reports and other stakeholders

  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Expected annual base pay range for the role is $256,000 - $320,000 .The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
