Financial Controller, High-Performing Family Office, Dubai, UAE

About our client

A family office in Dubai is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team. You'll be responsible for financial reporting - which is mostly outsourced - managing the service providers, investment accounting for the SPVs, including performance reporting. The firm are looking for someone who can drive change and improve processes, so previous experience in improving reporting quality and/or system implementation is a bonus. The firm has a relaxed culture and it's a small team, as such they are very keen on the Financial Controller being able to contribute to the investment process. Due to the firm's flexible investment approach, experience across a range of asset classes would be preferable. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has always wanted to work abroad. What the job involves

• Liaise with administrators and external auditors to comply with all reporting, accounting and audit requirements for multiple special purpose companies (SPCs) and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs)
• Oversee, direct and ensure the integrity, preparation, review, analysis and timely submission of all financial reports including profit and loss statements, cash flow statements and asset valuations, portfolio NAVs
• Implement continuous control systems to monitor the performance of the firm and its affiliates
• Maintain strong working relationships senior management, outside auditors and legal counsel
• Enhance the quality of performance reports and analytics for shareholders
• Responsible for cash management, cash flow analysis and ensuring that the businesses have ongoing liquidity to meet investment and expense commitments

Who we are looking for

• Experience at a previous family office, private equity or multi-asset manager in a finance role or experience in audit focusing on investment funds
• You're excited at the prospect of living in Dubai and able to relocate
• Proven track record in finance with extensive experience in an international environment
• Significant commercial exposure providing the experience and gravitas to challenge
• Have previous experience in adding value to a firm's processes, such as reporting and system implementation
• Articulate, excellent communication and presentation skills and fluent English
