Role Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility to assist on the execution of Project and Export Finance Americas transactions working in conjunction with the relevant Associate Directors and Directors
  • Prepare origination/marketing materials, including pitch books and institutional presentations
  • Prepare financial models and analysis in support of contemplated transactions
  • Contribute to the quantitative and qualitative performance objectives of the Americas team
  • Analyze and summarize transactions` economics, as well as benefits and considerations, particularly within the context of internal return models and credit memos
  • Manage relationships and workflow with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including clients, relationship managers, other product partners, credit, legal, tax, compliance and operations
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities for other product partners, including derivatives, syndications and transaction banking (cash and trade)
Contributes to:
  • Execution, timely closing of relevant transactions
  • New and recurring revenues for Project & Export Finance/ Corporate Finance
  • Portfolio Management of existing transactions in support of the PAM team
  • Development of the Bank's core values
Strategy
  • Support Project & Export Finance ("PEF") colleagues and Regional Heads to formulate strategy for the business in the context of the overall client strategy across the region
  • Support the PEF Regional Heads to manage the implementation of the PEF business strategy
  • Build trusted relationships with Sponsors, Promoters and Commercial Banks
  • Build origination and execution capabilities as well as local regulatory knowledge across the major markets
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of clients and markets to support the team's strategic dialogue with clients.
Business
  • Support deal execution for Project Finance transactions for Americas.
  • Participate in both origination and execution of transactions, from the pitch phase through to closing
  • Prepare presentation materials for use in client meetings
  • Participate in the origination and execution of debt & advisory transactions including structuring, arranging, negotiating, due diligence and drafting of documents
  • Build detailed financial models to evaluate performance under various operating scenarios and to analyse the impact of different capital structures
  • Perform financial and sensitivity analyses using various methodologies relevant for the industry sector
  • Understand the credit risks associated with any financing and ensure they are appropriately mitigated to protect the Bank's interest.
  • Keep abreast of emerging sectors and regulatory developments in the project financing landscape and opportunities to develop within the North American market
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on clients
  • Research and analysis of markets and industries
  • Support deal team in day to day project management, execution support and stakeholder management
  • Coordinate efforts with deal team members across the Bank
  • Complete all required credit and regulatory examinations

  • Ensure compliance with all PEF processes and credit underwriting standards
  • Ensure that good quality review and deal documentation are conducted and compliance with the risk management processes in place.

Risk Management
  • Achieve revenue target in a safe and well-controlled manner on an end-to-end basis
  • Enforce a culture of risk management, control and governance, and ensure team comply with the risk management processes in place.
  • Ensure strategic execution of transactions remains within the agreed Risk Appetite and Underwriting Standards
  • Proactively advise and monitor all major risk issues. Where appropriate, direct remedial action and/ or ensure adequate escalation and reporting to the appropriate Operational Risk Committees
  • Manage the credit approval process efficiently and effectively and establish a good reputation with Credit
  • Understand the credit risks associated with any financing and ensure they are appropriately mitigated to protect the Bank's interest. Ensure compliance with the risk management processes in place.
  • Ensure that good quality review and deal documentation are conducted and compliance with the risk management processes in place.
  • Ensure that there is clear communication and open dialogue with credit when discussing the merits of each transaction.
  • Provide support in review and negotiation of legal documentation, ensuring compliance with Bank policy and handover of transactions to Portfolio management Group
  • Assist Portfolio management Group in the administration of relevant loans and review of existing portfolio loans. Provide oversight on annual reviews prior to submission to credit

  • To ensure compliance with local regulatory bodies and the Bank's policies as laid down by Group Legal & Compliance
  • Embed the Group's values and code of conduct to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations
  • Responsible for delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

Expected annual base pay range for the role is $96,000 to $120,000 . The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
