ROLE SUMMARY
The Sr. Associate, Operational Due Diligence is responsible for assisting senior research analysts and the research team in selecting, monitoring and terminating external managers for the manager of manager business. They will analyze and evaluate manager information, both quantitative and qualitative in nature as well as interview external managers and formulate a research thesis on these managers. They will also participate in the search activity for new managers and be responsible for day to day involvement in the monitoring and oversight of current manager roster.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists senior staff in the process of selecting, monitoring and managing external investment managers.
  • Evaluates and analyzes quantitative analysis of managers.
  • Conducts manager interviews to include on-site due diligence for assessment and judgment of manager's organization, process and investment team.
  • Screens and interviews managers as part of the manager selection process.
  • Participates in the monitoring and oversight of the current manager line up.
  • Assists senior staff in the analysis of terminating a relationship with an external investment manager.
  • Works with the research team to enhance the monitoring process of current manager line up.
  • Prepares client materials and involved in some face to face client presentations.
  • Primary responsibility for the mutual fund managers and board/regulatory reporting working with Compliance.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in operational due diligence/manager research or '40 Act compliance
  • Knowledge of investments and financial markets, and financial analysis usually acquired by a degree and related experience.
  • Experience with mutual funds and regulations a plus.
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written skills.
  • Leadership skills required to provide training and guidance for less experienced analysts.
