Data Solutions & Services

You will help to design and lead strategic data solutions build-out to support our public markets investment capabilities. You will also conduct research and manage the implementation of data services for all investment strategies and new product lines, through the establishment of strategic partnerships and foster best practices in operating and service models.

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that is an integrated investment service team that partners the business in providing services to support public markets investment.

The Business Data Operations team is responsible for all data operations to support our public markets investment capabilities. We are a team of data domain subject matter subjects, providing highly quality and timely data used across the Organisation. The team is also responsible for operationalization of data services for all investment strategies & new product lines, leveraging a range of expertise and through the establishment of strategic partnerships across the firm and in the market, to embed and enforce best practices in data operating models.

We are looking for a suitable candidate for an Associate position in Business Data Operations. The role encompasses:

  • Processing external market data and transforming the data into a golden reference
  • Undertaking process enhancements to optimize operational outcomes
  • Liaising with multiple stakeholders internal and external to effect quality service delivery
  • Providing independent, timely and high quality data services to a wide range of business users

This facilitates a wide range of other activities including trading, settlement, security valuation, portfolio performance measurement and reporting, regulatory compliance & risk monitoring and collateral management.

What will you do as an Associate, Business Data Operations?

  • Perform and manage daily data operations, including investigation and resolution of data exceptions and data quality issues independently in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform daily Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI) maintenance in internal systems in a timely and accurate manner
  • Proactively review and document processes in Confluence to enhance operational control and manage risks to the business
  • Proactively manage operational and non-routine queries/request from business users in a professional and timely manner
  • Actively seek and drive improvements and initiatives to existing workflows and processes to achieve higher efficiency and effectiveness and enhance business capabilities
  • Support operational readiness assessments on new products and/or new markets
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new work processes to support new business initiatives and enhance business capabilities
  • Support and complete system UAT projects with team interest and key requirements in mind
  • Establish strong rapport and engagement with business users and internal /external stakeholders like vendors, Trade Operations and TG to better anticipate and address their needs
  • Continue to strive to be Data subject matter expert by leveraging internal and external learning opportunities to enhance domain expertise

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • Possess a good Honours degree or equivalent
  • At least 2-4 years' of relevant working experience in fund management, banking or data management industry
  • Possess good knowledge of financial instruments and markets
  • Experience with at least one or more of industry data providers such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Markit WSO and others preferred
  • Passion for data and process-oriented analysis with good analytical abilities and creative thinking skills
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Data Management (EDM) tools and/or Master Data Management (MDM) tools
  • Exposure/familiarity to Python, R, RPA , SQL, or Excel VBA are highly preferred
  • Self-starter who is keen to learn and with strong learning agility
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Meticulous and detail oriented
