Role Summary:

Northern Trust has extensive experience in servicing our existing clients Exchange-traded fund (ETF) over the last two decades. We currently service over $43 billion in assets for over 100 ETF's. As this product type increases in demand amongst our overall client base, Northern Trust are seeking to enhance and grow our product range within Australia as we further expand and update our overall ETF capabilities.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of ETF with a strong technical knowledge of end to end ETF servicing requirements to join our Australian team. This will be an exciting opportunity for any candidate who is looking to broaden out their experience and making a progression in their career as they would be directly involved in the strategic design and build out of system capabilities and operational processes to provide a best in class offering to existing and new clients to ensure the continued excellent delivery of service to our ETF clients.

We are open to both Melbourne or Sydney location for this position.

What you will do:
  • Overall accountability for the service delivery to out ETF clients inclusive of the day to day oversight and responsibility for service delivery.
  • Working closely with Product, all Operational, Risk and Technology teams to assist in design, build out and testing of enhancements related to our ETF servicing capabilities.
  • Oversight and assistance in the testing and implementation of component developments.
  • Regular review of service model, identifying gaps in offering and delivery of solutions to close out.
  • Work with existing and new clients to solution requirements in line with new and additional product offerings
  • Assist in work with vendors to provide seamless integration with ETF operating capabilities and service delivery to client.
  • Developing and strengthening the relationship with various parties to the ETF ecosystem.
  • Interacting with various internal operational areas to improve processes, research processing problems and deliver efficiencies.
  • Attend industry events and publish industry thought leadership
  • Provide sales support through RFP response including presenting at client and prospect meetings
About You:
  • Proven experience in supporting ETF's across a range of ETF product types - passive, active and quoted product types.
  • A strong technical knowledge of end to end ETF operating model features from an administrator and custody perspective
  • Deal Capture from Authorised Participant (AP) and processing of ETF subscription and redemptions including settlement of units in clearing systems
  • Deal cost calculations - Actual, Fixed, Nav plus
  • Detailed deal confirmations to AP's.
  • Production of Portfolio Composition Files
  • In-kind trading
  • Corporate Action and Income processing for ETF's
  • Servicing of AP's to the highest standard
  • A strong familiarity with the regulatory requirements applicable to ETF's
  • Custody processing and settlement requirements for ETF unit and portfolio trades.
  • Experience in dealing with project and technology teams to deliver solutions
  • A strong team player who is committed to delivering a quality service to our clients
  • Ability to prioritise workload and use initiative to ensure highest quality of service.
  • Ability to work accurately within tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
