Job Title: Business Development Director

Location: London

Our client is the third largest bank in the Netherlands and they are looking for a Business Development Director to join them on their journey.


Through their new business development activities, in line with our strategic goals, the BDD contributes to the expansion of the portfolio in the UK. The job holder is an expert in equipment leasing and experienced in developing new client relationships, deal structuring, financial assessment and risk analysis. They manage priorities, communicate effectively and respond to the different interests of internal and external stakeholders

Daily Duties:

  • New clientnt acquisition via cross-collaboration, direct prospecting and KBIs, whilst adhering to the moderate risk profile of Lease.
  • Management of the end-to-end new client onboarding process, including pricing, deal structuring, the credit application process, completion of KYC requirements and documentation execution.
  • Maintaining relationships with 1st and 2nd Line stakeholders.
  • Working independently, as well as part of a deal team.
  • Developing and maintaining a contact plan with all potential clients, colleagues and KBIs.
  • Working closely with the Deal Structurer.

Advisory and Sales:

  • Achieving the new business goals and contributing to the overall performance of Lease
  • Increasing new client acquisition whilst adhering to the moderate risk profile.
  • Assessing potential customers and transactions for their fit within strategic goals and Risk Appetite Statement.
  • Writing detailed credit proposals, analysing and presenting financial and non-financial risks.
  • Presenting proposals to the Credit Committees.
  • Data quality and data integrity in respect of new prospects/clients.


  • Culturally well developed.
  • Experienced in asset finance/leasing, with a good working knowledge of the market, it's products and activities.
  • Ability to generate leads from their established network.
  • Credibility and gravitas to represent Lease in a professional manner.
  • Highly motivated and ambitious, with an eagerness to learn and self-develop.
  • Ambition to grow.
  • Solution driven and can-do mentality.
  • Good/strong Risk knowledge.
  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, manage internal/external communication effectively and manage key stakeholders.
