Front Office Software Engineer | NYC or Old Greenwich, CT- Global Investment Management

Systematic hedge fund with a focus on developing high quality financial strategies across a variety of asset classes and markets, utilising a proprietary research platform focused on exploring market inefficiencies.

They're seeking an experienced Software Developer with great problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to join the Front Office Technology team. Your main focus is to build and enhance software which enables the large-scale quant research operations that drive the platform and the production of the portfolio. This is an exciting time to join as they undertake a multi-year project to build a powerful, scalable, efficient platform to drive growth for the next ten years.

This role would be perfect for someone who can take ownership of the unique technical challenges involved in such a large project and who can bring solid experience and perspective to the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of strong programming skills with reliable, production-quality code, ideally in C++
• Strong development experience with large-scale, distributed systems
• Good knowledge of design patterns, data structures and algorithms

Nice to have

• Experience in one or more of the following:
  • systems development managing & performing computation on large-scale graph data
  • streaming / dataflow systems
  • programming language theory
  • Python development experience
