Right now, we have an excellent opportunity for a seasoned risk or finance professional to join is as an Associate Director. Reporting to the Head of Non-Financial Risk within the Finance Management Group, this is a highly influential role interacting with risk and operational stakeholders across Macquarie Group to further embed strong non-financial risk (NFR) management practices and awareness in line with business priorities. It offers and exciting opportunity to build and shape risk management approaches across FMG and the bank more broadly.
In this pivotal role you will take responsibility for managing and monitoring non-financial risk in the EMEA region. The global Line 1 non-financial risk team supports the Finance Management Group divisions to effectively manage their operational, compliance, change and conduct risks as they deliver the strategy. The team is responsible for ensuring that risk management practices are embedded through the Finance Management Group & supporting the groups change program to ensure risks are identified and managed from inception and proactively identifying risks through assurance.
As a regional Subject Matter Expert on operational risk, you will provide advice to Finance Management colleagues regarding operational risk best practices and the interpretation and application of policy. You will also act as the independent voice of risk for the region and take responsibility for timely escalation of operational risks, concerns, and issues to local and global stakeholders.

You will have well-honed organisational skills and will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop relationships across various stakeholders. Adhering to deadlines whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality, and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively is also essential.
You will be a strong performer and have the drive to find and deliver on opportunities to improve frameworks to identify and manage regulatory risk. In addition, you will have the innate ability to interpret, analyse and explain data to a broad range of stakeholders.

- Supporting the EMEA Chief Financial Officer regarding their Senior Managers Regime accountability obligations, including their 'Reasonable Steps'
- Leading a small team of talented risk professionals
- Managing/reporting operational incidents ensuring effective address of risk and framework application
- Regional governance, risk awareness and risk profiling
- Execution of operational risk-related compliance tasks
- Coordination of EMEA regional input onto global attestation and sign off processes.

You will also have the following work experience and qualifications including:
- a bachelor's degree preferably in either Law, Commerce, Risk, Economics, Business, Accounting, Finance or similar
- 7+ years' financial services experience, regulatory risk preferred.
- strong understanding of regulatory risks
- experience in risk management roles
