Wealth Management (WM) provides advice, strategies and solutions for all aspects of the financial, asset management and wealth transfer needs of high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients. WM is dedicated to delivering an outstanding client experience by providing unbiased advice and personal solutions.

Credit Risk assesses, permissions and manages credit and counterparty risks on an industry, client, geographic and transaction basis. Credit risk is the risk of loss arising from the default of a client or counterparty. The Credit Risk function identifies, measures, limits, manages and monitors credit risk across our businesses. Credit exposure arises through underwriting, lending and trading activities with and for clients and counterparties, as well as from a range of operating services such as cash management and clearing activities.

Job responsibilities:
  • Prepare Annual credit reviews for an assigned portfolio of GWM credit clients. This will require the proper use and application of the Financial Spreading Tool, (FST) to analyze borrower disclosures to determine probability of default/ obligor grades and understand the various types of collateral and associated risks to determine facility grades.
  • Perform Collateral analysis and recommend Loss given Defaults (LGDs) using the appropriate systems.
  • Partner with Credit Executives for portfolio reviews, risk exceptions and approval of annual credit reviews
  • Partner with Lines of Business to keep credit portfolio current on key risk metrics and facilitate new transactions on the assigned portfolio of clients.
  • Document covenants and special monitoring requirements
  • Monitor exception reports (Unlinked, Ungraded, Overlimits, Overdrafts, Past Dues, etc.)
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Successful candidates will be motivated, self-starters that are results driven and are able to operate effectively in a large, matrix organization. This person should be highly organized, detail oriented, collaborative and have an aptitude for thinking strategically and creatively. The most qualified candidates will have:
  • 4+ years of professional experience related to financial services and risk management
  • Degree in finance or related field
  • Working knowledge of credit risk, preferably in an Underwriting and/or Approver capacity.
  • Ability to translate complex analyses and synthesize into key insights for data-related decision making and apply practical solutions
  • Ability to provide credible challenge business partners on new initiatives, new products
  • Ability to understand the business and market context
  • Attention to detail and ability to consistently follow Credit Policy
  • Effective communication to senior stakeholders including translating technical insights into concise and business-friendly language
  • Possess strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in Chinese language is preferred
  • Knowledge of legal documentation, policy, and loan/credit operations a plus
