Role Responsibilities
  • Provide sound investment recommendations as a product specialist to private banking clients and position mutual funds, alternative investments and discretionary portfolio mandates (DPM) in a multi-asset-class portfolio context aligned with the Standard Chartered CIO House-view.
  • Drive the marketing and penetration of investment funds, alternative investments and discretionary portfolio mandates for the Greater China & North Asia (GCNA) market.
  • Articulate investment views and present managed investment solutions during key client meetings with Private Bankers and Investment Advisors.
  • Assist Private Bankers and Investment Advisors in addressing client enquiries and delivering client-friendly deliverables that are compliant with local regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and strengthen existing Managed Investments Platform, including proactively and broadly communicate on adjustments to recommendations due to changes in CIO views, Fund Focus lists, etc.
  • Actively provide constructive feedback to stakeholders such as Fund Selection Team and Discretionary Portfolio Management on business challenges and opportunities.
  • Assist in co-ordination of fund house / manager visits as well as internal road shows for new managed product launches.
  • Support the managed investment product governance.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 5+ years of experience in Private Banking or Asset Management industry, with focuses on investment advisory/portfolio-based solutions for Private Banking clients in mutual funds/alternative investments/Discretionary Portfolio Mandates.
  • Broad and understanding of financial instruments and markets (Degrees in Finance / Economics and CFA, CAIA, FRM, MBA, etc.) are a definite plus.
  • Solid understanding of portfolio construction and investment processes in Wealth Management context. Prior experiences working with Relationship Managers and High-Net-Worth individual clients is an advantage.
  • High-impact and confident presence with strong sales and negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
  • Strong organizational skills record of being able to implement, execute and deliver against tight deadlines.
  • Client-focused, results-oriented team player with highest standards of ethical and professional behaviour.
