Our client is an asset management company that specialises in fixed income. They gather investment and engineering professionals to research, develop, and implement state-of-the-art scientific investment processes that are applicable to fixed income management.They utilise modern technology that is custom-built for scientific fixed income investing. Aiming to solve complex problems scientifically, believing that teams of highly skilled and diverse individuals with similar values produce superior outcomes.
They are seeking an experienced Python Engineer with a strong background in fixed income products and a passion for technology to join their engineering team. You will work on building the systems that support the firm-wide investment process. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a Kubernetes environment, collaborating with other engineers across the firm to develop, deploy, and scale core services, including reference data, trade management, position management, and compliance.
They are looking for a team player with strong communication skills and an ownership mentality. You should have experience with the breadth of fixed income products, an eagerness to learn and develop expertise in new technologies, and the ability to write high-quality Python code. Experience mentoring and coaching engineers earlier in their careers is also highly valued.
Your technical responsibilities will include contributing to the company's software development toolkit, building common libraries and software infrastructure, reviewing and testing code and systems, and supporting production systems. Strong stakeholder management skills are important, as is an understanding of trade lifecycle, third-party system integration, and operational processes.
While not essential, server-side development experience, experience with SQL databases, and knowledge of Rust and Kubernetes are all desirable. You will be using Rust in the role but they are happy for you to pick it up as you settle in if you have no prior experience.
There are currently two roles open:
Mid level - 3-6 years of Python commercial experience and Fixed Income or Equities knowledge.
Senior - 10+ years experience with Python within Fixed Income or Equities.
