As Loans Platform Transformation Manager, you'll be reporting to Issuer Services Chief Information Officer, where you will be responsible for achieving our mission to build a highly scalable, reliable, and digital platform that supports our Loans business, an open architecture platform that is capable of:
  • Orchestrating wide variety of digital services provided (by both internal and 3rd party collaborators)
  • Offering frictionless client experience throughout the whole lifecycle enabled by automation at scale.
  • Offering data-driven actionable insights to drive improvements, uncover new opportunities and inform new innovation solutions.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Engineering and Platform Vision - Define the overall strategic and tactical roadmaps in close collaboration with Business, Strategy and Product Management
  • Executive Leadership - clearly communicate engineering vision and roadmap, collaborate with the rest of the organization for strategic alignment. Deliberate and thoughtful on strategic decision (build vs buy vs partner) in close collaboration with the CIO. You're empathetic, and love to build high-performance world-class engineering first team.
  • Excellent Execution - own and deliver all aspects of the software engineering for the core platform and product vertical solutions in agile manner. You'll partner with the enterprise infrastructure and platform engineering teams, enabling best possible developer experience, and reliability engineering (high availability, large scale, end-to-end resiliency). You'll have to be very good at making tradeoffs between commercial outcome, agility, and engineering excellence.
  • Industry Leadership - work with clients, stakeholders and industry peers to lead conversations to advance our vision, advocate and influence the innovation and development of capital market infrastructure that reduces fragmentation by promoting interoperability and connectivity, resulting into instantaneous access, mobility, and utility of assets.
  • Innovative - A creative mindset to re-imagine the capital market infrastructure, applying fresh approach while being pragmatic in driving adoption.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Proven experience as Engineering Director leading distributed engineering teams.
  • Proven experience in building complex and highly resilient platforms involved movement of significantly large amount of volume.
  • Proven experience at rapid scaling and organizing for scale which include attracting, developing and retaining talent.
  • Deep understanding and proven experience in distributed systems, web3 technology stack and Loans Platform.
  • Track record of being talent magnet and attracting top talents at all levels
  • Advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 15 + years of experience in systems analysis and program development with related supervisory, management and administrative experience required, at least 6-8 years of experience managing development project teams, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $131,500 and $265,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
