The Asset Management Division also invests in corporate equity and corporate debt, real estate equity, and real estate debt and infrastructure worldwide. Fixed Income seeks to uncover opportunities across borders and in under-researched markets. We use independent specialist teams for bottom-up and top-down decisions, and for generating strategies within their areas of expertise. The Fixed income team includes money market products, central funding and liquidity management businesses.

Part of the the Fixed Income business, the Securitized investment team is seeking a portfolio manager with experience managing assets in Agency Mortgages. The team manages over $72bn in Securitized assets across the global fixed income platform, with over $41bn in Agency MBS assets. We're seeking a portfolio manager with experience managing assets in agency mortgages, who will work with the team as well as the broader FI platform to deliver best in class performance to our clients.

The successful candidate will bring a deep background in Agency MBS. Significant experience analyzing, trading and taking risk in Agency MBS is a pre-requisite. Experience across Pass-throughs, CMOs and Agency MBS derivatives would be best. We are seeking a candidate who can communicate a robust investment process and will be prepared to develop and tailor that process to the specific needs of GSAM's clients. The candidate should evidence the ability to excel in a team environment. We are seeking a portfolio manager with strong leadership and communication skills who can take a significant role driving investment decision-making and implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Generate new investment ideas through rigorous fundamental analysis across TBAs, specified pools, CMOs, and MBS derivatives
  • Work with portfolio managers and the cross-sector team to implement the Agency MBS investment process through regular research meetings, focusing on both top-down and bottom-up approaches
  • Coordinate trading activity across all Agency MBS products and account types, ensuring all relevant mandates abide by appropriate risk limits and investment guidelines
  • Manage projects with the technology and strategy teams to increase automation, improve quality of data, and create new trading tools
  • Work with lead portfolio managers in developing and communicating market outlooks, recent investment decisions, and new products to current or prospective clients
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of experience in Agency MBS, either on the sell-side or buy-side
  • Significant experience as a risk taker having ownership for material investment decisions in the sector
  • Leadership experience as part of an investment or trading team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Highly degree of motivation, with the ability to work independently as well as thrive within a fast-paced team environment
  • Curiosity, strong critical thinking skills, and passion for problem-solving
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$290000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
