The Role Responsibilities
Strategy
  • Support Head of BBD Sales in defining and implementing the business strategic agenda as well as identifying and create areas of competitive advantage for FM BBD Sales to execute on.
  • Focus on problem solvings with the skills to formulate strategy based on data analytics
  • Support Sales COO in executing account planning management and execution model. Implement changes to align incentives with strategy to drive higher productivity in Sales space
  • Drive the FM Sales directives in all aspects of BAU activity across the FM businesses and improve operating support framework
  • Ensure streamlined support to BBD Sales, leveraging FM COO and FMO partners as well as GB stakeholders
  • Ensure management of non-financial risks
Business
  • Focus on the management of budget setting, performance analytics, Coalition wallet sizing exercises and all FM Sales/Structuring MIS needs
  • Focus on BBD Sales process efficiency and BBD client experiences. Connect business with product owners to solve issues holistically and strategically. Have a tactical mindset
  • Analyse, communicate and collaborate with key management across CIB support growth of the FM wallet
  • Implement information and tools needed for Global Head of BBD Sales to provide direction, migrate best practices, challenge country performance and utilise MIS to drive results
  • Develop and maintain strong internal relationships across CIB and the bank to bridge silos across all Products and Segments
  • Collaborate with both FM Sales and wider CIB coverage teams to provide seamless client delivery and execution
Growth Opportunities
  • Analyse MIS at a granular level. Understand and communicate key business dynamics, and identify potential growth areas
  • Propose potential growth areas with heads of product sales/trading and the top team, and ensure strong execution so business captures the opportunities
  • Engage constructively and diligently follow up on internal decisions that need to be taken in order to enable growth initiatives to be executed
  • Work closely with FM Sales COO for Global Head of FM Sales, and other FM COO functions to maximise opportunities for FM product lines and enhance client offerings.
  • Manage product inputs, agendas, materials and track action items for meetings including FM
  • BMT, SMT, CIBMT and others
  • Execute efficiency driven changes in technological and operational framework
Processes
  • Work closely with relevant Infrastructure Heads/Regional Heads to remediate any business blockages
  • Identify where investment needs to support the strategic agenda are required and support securing budget
  • Ensure all processes are adhered to across the full remit of the role, in line with approved policies and procedures
  • Ensure all countries within the region follow the process governance practices set out by the NFRC
People and Talent
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations amongst colleagues and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Actively communicate vision, priorities and progress to the business to foster engagement, awareness and motivation
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and sharing best practice.
  • Support the setting and monitor of job descriptions and objectives for the Sales team where appropriate, and support management in giving feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
  • Effectively communicate and reinforce strategic change and support the organisation structure and people programs to be aligned and geared towards supporting change
  • Drive employment, engagement and retention of high-quality people, with succession planning for critical roles. Identify, evaluate and action under performers
  • Undertake periodic reviews of team structure/capacity plans.
Risk Management
  • Deliver a culture of risk management and ensure all teams comply with the risk management processes in place
  • Support the delivery of adequate and appropriate systems and controls to comply with Group and Business policies, procedures, standards and codes, including those governing Risk types, Compliance, ITO, Finance and Reputation.
  • Provide management oversight and monitoring of all major risk issues and concentrations.
Governance
  • Ensure that the governance and compliance framework grow in step with the business functions by routing all new products through the existing Non-Financial Risk Committee (NFRC) and making the NFRC core to control and supervision of the business.
  • Promote an environment where compliance with internal control functions and the external regulatory framework is a central priority of business.
  • Support supervision of the framework to ensure business functions covered by this role comply with internal policies, procedures, codes and applicable external laws and regulations and adhere to the expected high standards set out in the FM Code of Conduct.
  • Support the assessment and effectiveness of the Group's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Support delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Relevant experience in Financial Markets COO business management
  • Preferred direct experience in FM Sales or Sales COO roles
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to audiences ranging from C-Suite to working level staff
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
  • Forward looking with a holistic approach
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills - i.e. methodical and thorough
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
  • Well versed with Business Agility principles, Agile certification would be a plus
