Role Responsibilities
Short Term Assignment - 3 months
  • Drive the relationship of a portfolio of GS corporate clients in Singapore for Global Subsidiaries Singapore.
  • Current year revenue of USD5m, covering a portfolio of ~20-30 client groups.
  • Provide strategic client direction for and collaborate with product partners.
  • Support the delivery of GS SG budgets and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain strong risk management culture.
Strategy
  • Ensure assigned client portfolio carried out is in line with Group / Regional / Country CCIB strategy. Position the bank with clients as experts in country and our network.
Business
  • Own and deliver the budget for the assigned GS portfolio.
  • Deliver on metrics in the performance scorecard.
  • Deepen, broaden and grow client relationships through delivering the network.
  • Communicate any risks to delivery of business outcome and highlight any actions which can be taken to manage risks.
  • Support both domestic Singapore and potential regional engagements.

  • Establish and develop the culture of collaboration across teams, improving communication between the business and support functions to achieve business efficiency.
People & Talent
  • Be able to coach and develop talents in the wider teams.
Risk Management
  • Participate and comment on any areas that may give rise to operational concerns.
  • Ensure risk issues with either Risk or Compliance in the client portfolio are discussed and addressed timely.
Governance
  • Active leadership and effective ground level led execution in GSAM and EA management as leadership and speed of response are critical in protecting the interests of the Bank.
  • Ensure that support is provided on all audit and compliance findings and action plans to facilitate resolution in a timely manner and to encourage the continual improvement of processes and procedures.

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles. Fair Outcomes for Clients, Effective Financial Markets, Financial Crime Compliance, The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key stakeholders
Internal:

  • Engage with product partners within the region and globally to ensure breadth and depth of client coverage and deepening.
  • Engage with Client Managers on relevant client account management activities.
  • Consult with senior stakeholders in Risk and Legal & Compliance to ensure that the assigned client portfolio remains credit worthy and within the policies of the bank.
External:
  • Designated point of contact, act as a trusted advisor/value added partner for specific clients in Singapore relating to the portfolio assigned.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 8+ years of relevant relationship management experience covering corporate clients.
  • Strong knowledge of legal, economic, and regulatory environment in ASEAN and Singapore as well as other key trading corridors.
  • Credit trained
  • Proposal management and delivery skills and a good question-asker.
  • Multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity with an understanding of cultural, ethnic, and religious market conditions to translate strategy into effective local operations.
