Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Manager - Global Broker Service.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Broker and account set up / On boarding - develop an effective / transparent / digital workflow for broker and account set up / on boarding. Complete mapping on all required and appropriate OMS platforms (to include MarketAccess / Tadeweb / BondConnect / FXALL / Bloomberg etc.) with proactive communication on progress and completion. Workflows include DVP Brokers as well as FX & OTC set up for new account and mandate launches. All specific broker requirements for credit & risk approvals will also be managed
  • Broker Maintenance - ensure account changes / AUM changes and communications to brokers is proactive and timely, to ensure no trading / credit limits are applied based on outdated NAVs / fund details. Review broker data to ensure all LEI and related static data identifiers are up to date. Own admin roles for setting up trades on MTF venues
  • Broker Relationship management and mapping - as a consequence of the above, the ultimate objective is to establish strong connectivity with brokers globally to build a collaborative approach to trading and wider business engagement; share areas of mutual interest / development; build multilevel connections between support teams at AM and brokers; build a global map of broker activity across all asset classes, to include service delivery metrics
  • Trading Documentation management - support the development of a standards methodology to industrialize and complete, in a short timeline, trading documented for setting up new accounts / new brokers (taking into account local regulatory requirements). Manage the process of document / data points for completing ISDAs and other documentation with brokers. Use document management tools to assist with the review of specific clauses and Terms of Business requiring mapping / restriction / control monitoring. Maintain the golden source for AM trading documentation and broker TOB
  • Due Diligence - ensure a broker centric approach to due diligence, supporting brokers with their regular checks on AM and AM checks on brokers. This may include FCC and other regulatory checks
Requirements

Requirements
  • The candidate should have at least 10 years' experience within asset / investment firms / roles and preferably 4+ years work experience in areas of investment operations such as counterparty management, data management or trade support
  • Detailed knowledge of the transaction lifecycle for commonly traded instrument types
  • Knowledge of investment management documents such as ISDAs, IMAs, Prospectuses etc
  • Experience of using investment management tools such as Bloomberg terminals, Market vendor tools and fund platforms is essential
  • A team player, with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Flexible approach to duties and hours of work with a willingness to work across time zones
  • Strong technical skillset in data management and front office support work including front office tools and systems (OMS, decision support tools, databases etc.)
  • Familiarity with data platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC, Markit is mandatory as well as Bloomberg AIM and other Oder Management Systems
