Role Responsibilities
  • Programme "Aspire" is a multi-year strategic investment programme to transform Finance GCFO into a modern, globally-consistent organisation with skills, capabilities and jobs that match competitor banks. This involves investment to replace the infrastructure, and move to a more centralised, standardised and automated business model. This will enable faster processing, easier and more frequent access to information, at lower levels of cost. The programme is responsible to develop and implement the Finance GCFO strategy to deliver the GCFO Change agenda and ASPIRE programme (> $400m investment) into the bank and ensure the target business benefits (>$150m/yr) are realised.
  • The Aspire infrastructure will result in a cloud-based single instance general ledger and a detailed, granular data store. This will enable faster monthly close and daily reporting, centralised regulatory reporting capability, self-service MIS, and automated controls.
  • The Senior Capital Project Manager is responsible for delivery of Technology and Change on key projects in the Capital Portfolio
The core of Aspire requires a modern technology infrastructure and data capability:
  • SAP has been selected for; the Finance data store (FSDP), Finance SubLedger (FSPL), General Ledger (S/4 HANA), and for Supply Chain (Ariba).
  • Moody's Analytics has been selected for, MA Risk Authority for Regulatory Capital calculations, and MA Risk Confidence for Intraday Liquidity.
Key responsibilities
  • Driving stakeholder management, forward planning, resource management and allocation, Hive alignment and responsibility of Capital Technology and Change COE teams, responding to regulatory queries. Specifically:
  • Lead the strategic development, direction, planning and execution of specific capital projects including line management of Senior Managers across Technology and Change.
  • Ensuring resources are effectively managed and allocated, teams have effective business alignment, effective support processes are in place, risks and costs are appropriately managed.
  • Ensuring a close working relationship and alignment between the Technology and Change teams and a close working relationship and alignment with the India COE teams to achieve seamless delivery on key projects.
  • Manage, develop and sustain effective working relationship with the multiple stakeholders upstream and downstream of the Finance Capital Function.
  • Proactively handling problems and making decisions based on the understanding of critical issues and priorities including facilitating issue resolution.
  • Creation of a harmonious working environment, minimalizing impact of churn on the ongoing operational performance, ensuring adequate skilled resources are available to deliver the various workstream plans.
  • Proficiency in workforce management practices: Supporting resource growth, capacity planning, attrition management so that the deliverables are met.
  • Training and development: identifying needs and issues, defining interventions with L&D specialists, evaluating outcomes and cross training the resources.
  • Provide direct support and coaching to all levels of managers and supervisors on relevant projects.
  • Ensure group standards are maintained with the correct level of due diligence and control considered as part of programme documentation.
  • Help support standardisation across different projects, connecting with other key initiatives.
  • The successful candidate will manage multiple projects across the Capital Hive at different points in the lifecycle partnering closely with the other Capital Program managers. This includes but is not limited to Capital MI, Daily RWA, Capital process optimization and automation, delivery of the strategic Capital Architecture.
People & Talent
  • This role requires strong project management, business analysis skills and an effective communication style to operate across a wide range of geographies and Stakeholders. Experience of working in a Risk or Finance function of a large Financial Institution as well as experience of a Global Programme roll out is desirable. Good working knowledge of the end-to-end processes and functions supporting Capital and RWA reporting would also be beneficial.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Educational Qualifications: MBA from a premier institute is preferred.
Professional Qualifications:
  • 15+ years' experience of leading Finance Technology and/or Change functions comprising of 50+ team size. 10+ years of experience managing large ERP projects with multiple interfaces involved and/or two large-scale full life cycle implementations. Has worked in Agile delivery ecosystem. Proven experience in people, risk and change management.
  • Proven experience working across multiple geographies in rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong programme management skills with emphasis on building effective teams, experience with Agile deliveries preferred. Strong track record of delivering major data programs. Business and technical data leadership.
