The Role: Sr. Associate of Content Acquisition

The Sr. Associate of Content Acquisition, will support the centralized and growing function responsible for the licensing, distribution and management of 3rd party content and services by S&P Global's worldwide business units. The role will help implement internal controls to ensure that use of 3rd party content and services contracts meet the needs of our businesses and ensure S&P Global's compliance with all terms and conditions. The CARM group currently manages this function across the enterprise. This position will be based in New York, NY or London. This is an Equal Pay for Equal Work Act job.

Responsibilities:

Manage content acquisition with a focus on S&P Global Market Intelligence. As an individual contributor to the team, the candidate will be responsible for a team with the following areas of responsibility:
  • Commercial deal and contractual negotiations - vendor selection process, negotiation of commercial terms and finalize into complete and executed agreements, obtain necessary business stakeholder approvals, and post-execution management of rights and obligations for vendor partnerships. For larger/broader partnerships, collaborate with other CARM colleagues, partnership teams and stakeholders across the enterprise.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the company's third-party content and service providers, keeping up to date on the latest offerings and vendor options.
  • Work with the businesses to create data strategies around product creation, enhancements and increased revenues and execute on strategies by presenting and procuring approvals and recommendations to either buy/acquire, organically create/build, or license content and related services.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to review requests for additional content and services, clearly documenting and understanding each request.
  • Ensure compliance with existing license grants, making recommendations to the business on potential risks and suggested actions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date summaries of all vendor relationships and related contracts and terms that you will manage.
  • Meet with business stakeholders and vendors, review news and periodicals, attend training and events to continuously grow and evolve knowledgebase of S&P's products and services, S&P's 3rd party vendor partners, and the overall financial information and market data industry.
  • Participate in the sharing of data and information assets process among the S&P Global businesses.
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years relevant experience specifically focused on financial information/market data vendor relationship management, contract negotiations and overall market data management.
  • Problem-solving, and synergy cost savings analysis experience a must.
  • Complex and creative commercial deal negotiation experience as well as strong aptitude for reviewing, revising, and authoring contract terms within Word a must.
  • Attention to detail, follow-through on projects and multi-tasking skills a must. Candidate must possess a solid knowledge of financial information and market data industry - including various vendors and products available in the marketplace.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must have strong customer focus with demonstrated ability to be highly responsive and present solutions to requests and issues. CARM is a centralized business support team and function, and all business stakeholders within the firm are our customers. Comfortable liaising with internal stakeholders and external partners at a variety of levels.
  • Solid presentation verbal and writing skills with ability to influence others.
  • Must be highly organized and self-directed with the ability to work autonomously and adapt to change.
  • FISD Market Data certification (FIA) a plus.
Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
