The Role Responsibilities
Job Role
The role will directly support the Chief Credit Officer (CCO), Asia in delivering the Credit Risk Agenda for the region.
Support CCO, Asia in delivering Credit Risk Agenda for Asia across the Credit Risk function via:
  • Supporting effective management and monitoring of Asia Credit Portfolio across countries, industries, and ratings, driving and enabling analysis, stress tests, analysis of material events, business strategy, risk appetite.
  • Support the portfolio management activities such as driving MIS, tracking, monitoring, and analysing the full credit cycle performance, risk tolerance metrics, initiatives / projects and priorities.
  • Enabling effective management, efficiency of the processes and driving innovation across technology, governance, policies, and processes, and embed appropriately into BAU.
  • Oversight of CCO Asia annual calendar planning to drive various portfolio management and talent management activities and objectives.
  • Enabling efficiency by simplifying and standardizing operational processes and procedures and ensuring consistency and relevancy.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Enabling tracking and monitoring of Risk Control processes.
  • Support CCO Asia deliver key priorities for the region.
Coordinate Effective Communication, both Internally and Externally
  • Ensuring strong collaborative relationships with colleagues, building networks and participating in cross-functional projects including the ability to quickly build and achieve constructive working relationships across management levels, cultures and geographies.
  • Facilitating internal and external communications and delivering high quality and clear management information and presentations for various risk related forums, committees, meetings and ensuring content appropriateness and accuracy.
  • Supporting strategic planning including the development and production of strategic plans, reviews, performance updates, and associated research, analysis, and presentation for business updates, team calls, town halls.
  • Strong project management, prioritisation and problem-solving skills required, along with solid communication, presentation and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-performance, professional environment, work independently, be pro-active, multi-task, prioritize, and challenge BAU.
  • Engaging appropriate stakeholders to ensure timely remedial actions and escalation of situations that pose significant risk.
  • Excellent communication skills both written, spoken communication and presentation skills.
  • Supporting engagement with regulators, auditors and other external parties.
  • Coordinating key meetings and monitoring follow up actions to completion.
  • Maintain utmost discretion in dealing with confidential information.
Supporting CCO, Asia in delivering the People Agenda across the Credit Risk Function via:
  • Assist in talent management and talent development initiatives and opportunities via Training, tracking and executing mobility programmes and other people initiatives.
  • Enabling people management via focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, as well as financial and performance management.
  • Assist in supporting a cohesive, well connected, networked community and culture within the Credit Risk team.
Strategy
  • Monitor and track progress of deliverables including key initiatives and projects that support the achievement of the strategic agenda.
  • Play an active role supporting effective delivery of the Credit Risk Agenda and priorities for Asia.
Business
  • Planning, coordinating and preparing agenda, reports, presentations, papers, and review material, ensuring pre-briefing and preparation, and managing action items and follow ups to completion, to support discussions and decision making at various management forums, events, offsites and other engagements.
  • Taking a proactive approach on management and monitoring of Asia Credit Portfolio across countries, industries, and ratings, driving and enabling analysis, stress tests, analysis of material events, business strategy, risk appetite
  • Lead by example, building appropriate culture and values, using effective leadership, coaching and engagement.
  • Support CCO Asia in all aspects of running the Asia Credit Risk function.
Processes
  • Take the lead in driving continuous improvement, efficiency, and consistency e.g. identifying and executing ad-hoc improvements to processes.
  • Enabling efficiency by simplifying and standardizing operational processes and procedures and ensuring consistency and relevancy.
People and Talent
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners and teams to coordinate the people agenda across Asia Credit Risk function.
  • Coordinate specific people plan projects / initiatives.
Risk Management
  • Supporting effective management and monitoring of Asia Credit Portfolio across countries, industries, and ratings, driving and enabling analysis, stress tests, analysis of material events, business strategy, risk appetite.
  • Support the portfolio management activities such as driving MIS, tracking, monitoring, and analysing the full credit cycle performance, risk tolerance metrics, initiatives / projects and priorities.
  • Support CCO Asia deliver key priorities for the region.
Governance
  • Embed the Group's values and code of conduct, as it relates to the role remit, to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture.
  • Engage with relevant audit report findings across the relevant functions and ensure feedback is acted upon.
  • Understand the risk and control environment, driving rectification, as required.
  • Ensure CCO Asia is briefed on key risk and governance issues.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • University Degree in Finance / Business / Economics related disciplines.
  • Evidence of experience providing support at the senior executive level for strategy, operations, and execution priorities - e.g. relevant prior experience in risk management, management consulting, investment banking, internal advisory - ideally with experience working on both broad strategic issues as well as day-to-day operational tasks.
  • Evidence of outstanding English oral and written communication, presentation skills and ability to influence, negotiate, constructively challenge, and collaborate across levels, especially with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-performance, professional environment, operate independently, be pro-active, multi-task, prioritize and challenge BAU.
  • Bank training; i.e. mandatory and developmental - role specific, and regulatory / compliance bank wide and role specific.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness in order to handle changing priorities and urgent requests from senior management.
  • Strong project management and organization skills, ability to prioritize, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Multi-cultural awareness. Proven success of working effectively with people of different backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to distil information and articulate it in clear, concise and structured way.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office - Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel a must.
  • Maintain utmost discretion in dealing with confidential information.
  • Direct experience in credit risk preferred.
