As a Senior Manager in the Financial Management Group's (FMG) Data Office, reporting directly to the FMG Data Risk Lead in Sydney, you will lead a team to help drive understanding and awareness of risk management principles within FMG divisions as they relate to management of data.

This role will see you responsible for but not limited to:
  • Identification and assessment of data risks for critical data, either within change initiatives or ongoing business as usual processes;
  • Risk based determination of appropriate controls to mitigate data risks along the lineage of critical data;
  • Developing and delivering insights from monitoring and reporting of the management of data risks to senior stakeholders across FMG;
  • Acting as a data risk SME on behalf of FMG when engaging other Groups or Framework and policy owners;
  • Contributes and / or develops appropriate standards and guidance to enable FMG data owners to manage their data and risks effectively
  • Act as the lead or support person on behalf of FMG during any Line 2 or Line 3 assurance or Regulator engagements.
You will support the FMG Centres of Excellence by applying the above skills in:
  • Bringing FMG data under governance through critical data element identification, definition and mapping
  • The implementation of data management capabilities and processes (e.g. Data Quality Management, Metadata Management, Master and Reference Data Management)
  • Stakeholder engagement at all levels of the organisation to understand priorities, risks and issues
  • Designing and implementation of data governance
  • Developing and executing of information management (data management) strategies and roadmaps
  • Experience in leading a team to drive successful outcomes
About you:

You will bring a relevant Bachelor's degree, coupled with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. You will have people leadership experience and the ability to work autonomously. Previous experience with Enterprise Data Management programs including BCBS239 deployment, or CPG 235, would be highly regarded. Your experience in a financial services organisation preferably with Regulatory reporting experience will be highly advantageous but is not necessary if you come from another large, complex organisation. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with cross functional teams, possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills, and be an influential member of the team in order to motivate project stakeholders.
