The 'operations' team sit on the trading desk and combine shared core operations, trader assistant, treasury/financing & fund controller responsibilities - there are no silod tasks. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious, line operations junior to step up and radically improve his/her skill set.
The hire will report directly into the Head of Operations. You will be exposed to a wide-range of instruments in high volume, including foreign exchange, interest rate, and equity products.
The role has a strong focus on projects - these are ad-hoc analytical assignments for the portfolio managers / traders + key automation projects for the COO. The hire will be trained, both internally and on external training courses, to use VBA and python to a very strong standard.
Candidates should have 2-5yrs hedge fund operations experience. Broad product knowledge and experience working in a high-volume trading environment are preferred, albeit they are not pre-requisites. A strong academic profile is preferred. Advanced tech skills are useful, whereas a desire to learn VBA & Python is essential.
My client is prepared to offer the hire a very attractive increase on his/her current base salary. That said, the firm pride themselves on being a 'total comp payer', rewarding top performers with some of the largest bonuses in the market for non-investment staff - my client have set a rough year one base/bonus budget of up to $225k, with plenty of upside potential moving into year two.
All employees have fully subsidised breakfast and lunch daily, any qualifications of their choice fully funded + study leave and they offer the very best healthcare package available. All employees go on two overseas offsite trips per year. Employees work in an amazing, positive, vibrant office environment.
