The Singapore Product Risk team operates within Business Unit Risk Management team of Asia Private Wealth Management ("AWM") business as the first line of defense; the team is responsible for structuring and implementing the risk management framework around product governance, trade approvals and asset transfers primarily for Singapore branch of the AWM business.
The primary responsibilities for this role include but not limited to:
- Managing the Singapore product risk team and serves as escalation point for trade errors for AWM Singapore branch
- Review, assess and approve complex and/or bespoke trades and asset transfer requests for clients of AWM Singapore branch
- Assist in reviewing Product due diligence across all PWM products/asset classes including OTC derivatives & discretionary portfolio management before trading desk can offer the product for AWM clients
- Well versed with the regulatory requirements across products and asset transfers; and implement required controls to ensure compliance
- Work closely with various stakeholders including trading desk, Legal & Compliance and on risk governance related to Product Risk, Product Due Diligence and Asset Transfer
- Ability to prepare various risk models to provide with the product risk rating
- Ensure standardization and consistency in risk management policies and procedures applicable to AWM business
- Facilitate new business initiatives and work with trading desk and functional support teams on these initiatives.
- Support regulatory inquiries, internal audits and compliance testing for the AWM business
- Participate in ongoing projects to streamline processes including system enhancement to manage the risk of the business in an effective and efficient manner
- Promote awareness of positive risk culture within the business
- Provide cross coverage to Hong Kong and Australia product team where necessary
