The Role Responsibilities
The incumbent will work actively with the AME Governance Team to execute specific initiatives.
These initiatives will be focussed on but not limited to the following themes:
  • Governance Model Refresh: Refresh of the AME Governance Model and Organisational Design post Crown
  • Franchise Optimisation: Identifying and implementing additional Strategic Initiatives post Crown on optimising Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), Return on Tangible Equity (RoTE) and Costs across the AME franchise.
  • Analytics : Developing an Analytical framework for Credit Exposure, Balance Sheet and RWA monitoring across AME with a focus on sub- Investment grade countries
  • Monitoring : Early identification and implementation of Credit Exposure and RWA containment actions in response to deterioration in macro- economic conditions where applicable.
  • Conducting Strategic Reviews : Conducting comprehensive Strategic Business Reviews of Country, Businesses and Product Lines in AME with a view to highlight areas of Improvement, particularly in Sub Investment countries. This will include reviewing strategic options including feasibility of Spinoffs, review of Business entity and Shareholding structure etc with a view to lift RoTE.
  • New Markets Initiatives : Work closely with Cluster Governance and Business teams to identify business opportunities in new markets that are aligned with the Bank's Strategic objectives and develop Business Plans to execute on these opportunities.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Director Governance Initiatives would with strong exposure to Strategic Issues relevant to the Banking industry like RWA Management, RoTE etc as well a strong knowledge of business Valuation Methodologies. The Role Holder will also be familiar with executing strategic business options like spinoffs etc.
  • The Role Holder will be a highly organized individual, a self-starter and a great communicator, able to work together with multiple teams and to demonstrate problem resolution skills. The incumbent will also have strong people management skills.
  • The Incumbent will have around 10 years of experience having worked for a Bank or Consulting Firm with demonstrated experience of working on Projects covering the highlighted Themes with good subject knowledge of RWA, RoTE and related concepts as well as exposure to conducting Strategic Business Reviews for Banking businesses.
  • Strong Presentation skills including the ability to create detailed power point presentations is a key requirement for this role.
