  • This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the transformation of Marketing and Communications within the Private Bank business for a global financial company with a significant footprint in the APAC that is building a powerful team to enable the aggressive global growth vision in region.
  • This is a "blank slate" opportunity and aid in influencing the image and reputation of this dynamic organisation. The role of Global Head of Private Bank Marketing was added as part of a significant transformation for the CPBB Marketing team. Candidate will have dual responsibilities, reporting directly to the Head of CPBB, CABM and to the Global Head of Affluent Clients, and would hold a significant role on the new senior leadership team, while leading a team of 2-5 people.
  • Candidate, will develop and own the marketing strategy, lead the delivery of marketing activities and manage the strategic marketing and communications for the Private Bank, to accelerate business growth.
  • Candidate, through engagements with senior stakeholders will further refine the brand proposition, drive awareness and widespread adoption. You will provide leadership to develop and lead a new Private Bank marketing team to provide marketing direction, develop campaigns and track success across the key markets.
  • Candidate will be a highly experienced marketer, expert at delivering tailored messaging to a range of audiences and markets, be passionate about the importance of excellent marketing communications and have creative ideas for how the organisation's presence and brand recognition can be further developed to support brand awareness, market penetration and engagement. You will have already held a leadership role, or similar, and be used to managing multiple clients and businesses at one time. You expected to have a proven track record of successful strategy development, delivery, and strong on-ground marketing experience, and be able to hit the ground running in 6 key APAC focus markets, supporting 6 others.
  • Candidate will be a senior communication and/or marketing professional, with strong leadership experience and a solid awareness of how to navigate change management for success.
The future team
  • Under dynamic new leadership, the team is responsible for building and sustaining our brand leaderships, driving client consideration and engagement, and improving client experience across channels. The team is excited about opportunities to optimise business impact with use of data, analytics and insights, and achieve efficiency, effectiveness and efficacy. Through the use of data, research and insights, the team is expected to stay abreast of market/industry trends and keep evolving the strategies for better outcomes.
  • This role will focus on developing, executing and managing marketing strategies, plans and campaigns that will offer frontline teams with opportunities for new sales and deepen existing client relationships. To succeed in this role, the talent is required to have good communication, project and team management skills and the ability to work independently for marketing programs and events and to effectively collaborate and work closely with key partners, including the front office, digital, investment specialists, content, creative, social, business intelligence and compliance teams, and others to create solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • The successful candidate should also be data-driven and passionate about digital and innovative marketing ideas to drive quantifiable results to optimise sales impact, client engagement and deepen client relationships.
The role
  • The role works closely with the Private Banking Business, subject matter experts (SMEs), and various teams within CABM and Marketing (local, regional and global) to drive, define and own the marketing strategy for Private Bank, in alignment with Group CABM strategy, in direct support of business priorities and accelerating Private Bank business growth.
  • Drive and provide oversight of all Private Bank marketing activities and contribute to business and marketing objectives.
  • Provide guidance to curate innovative marketing solutions to achieve business objectives with measurable results.
  • Set strategy to identify client engagements opportunities and deliver solutions to accelerate business impact.
  • Provide guidance on driving awareness and engagement from online to offline and vice versa via different marketing tactics and touchpoints.
  • Guide team to build more streamlined and automated processes to more efficiently support Relationship Managers and business partners.
  • Define success metrics and evaluate impact of activities to support Private Banking business growth.
  • Monitor competitor activity (Both pure-play Private Banks and Universal Banks with Private Banking) and presence to create competitive edges.
  • Support team in striving for the best-in-class client engagement and experience.
  • Embrace evolving technologies to enable advanced solutions and improve customer experience.
  • Advocate on a collaborative culture and establish a high-performing team to achieve common goals.
  • Ensure discipline in place for strong governance and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external requirements to ensure the business is in line with changing regulations and evolving guidelines.
  • Provide guidance to team in management of relationships with key partners.
  • Serve as a major point of accountability for a diverse range of global/regional project delivery.
Budgets and Finances
  • Working closely with the Global Head of CABM, CPBB, to manage the Private Banking marketing budget.
  • Work closely with CABM and CPBB finance to create one view of the marketing budget.
  • Working closely with COO team and finance to ensure budget allocation and prioritisation in line with Private Bank's business priorities.
  • Review budget versus spends with key stakeholders regularly to ensure alignment and cost effectiveness.

  • Lead, develop and manage a team of seasoned professionals to support Private Bank marketing and communications activities.
  • Develop strong internal relationships across all markets and business teams to ensure effective partnerships among colleagues across CPBB.
  • Ensure all team members have clear objectives, targets and development plans and that there are strong retention plans around key talents and succession plans for key positions.
  • Acquire and retain top talent.
  • Evaluate current capabilities, identify any gaps and prioritise development activities to ensure that current and future marketing needs are met.
  • Ensure teams are structured to foster collaborative working and approaches across markets and central team.
  • Develop a stakeholder engagement strategy to maximise relationships with clients, investors, partners and intermediaries.
Reporting structure
  • The role will report directly to Global Head of CABM (Consumer, Private and Business Banking).
  • The role will manage and be supported by a team of up to 4 staff members, which may be expanded as required.
Risk Management
  • Manage marketing standards to reinforce overall SC brand positioning through consistency in tone, manner, look and feel, and gain competitive market advantage.
Governance
  • Implement a standardised affluent marketing operating rhythm including market planning, campaign execution, performance tracking and stakeholder engagement model.
  • Understand the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • An advanced degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, with a significant portion of that experience preferably within private banking and global financial services.
  • Experience leading and managing teams and executing large-scale, global marketing initiatives.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns, with a focus on digital marketing.
  • High level of independence and positive energy, Responsible and accountable, Respect for diversity of opinions and styles, Flexible in approach.
  • Demonstrate business acumen, strong problem solving and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experienced and can work independently and directly with vendors on campaign and event management from end to end.
