Description
Lazard Los Angeles Summer Analysts are integral members of the Investment Banking Group, joining lean and dedicated transaction teams, which provide financial advisory services to the firm's clients. Day-to-day responsibilities of an investment banking analyst include financial analysis and modeling, company and industry research, participating in the development of client presentations and interacting with senior bankers and clients. Assignments fall into a range of categories, including M&A, divestitures, general and strategic advisory, and capital markets.
In the Lazard Los Angeles Office, our Summer Analysts work in a generalist capacity spanning various industries including Aerospace & Defense, and Interactive Entertainment and Digital Media Investment Banking.
The 9-week Summer Analyst program begins with a weeklong classroom training in New York that teaches the fundamentals of banking, with a specific focus on modeling and relevant analytical techniques. Learning and development continues throughout the summer through apprenticeship, structured learning sessions from group leaders, and formal on-going performance feedback.
Qualifications
Candidates should be university students in their Sophomore year and top academic performers who are willing to work in an unstructured environment, which values initiative, creativity, maturity, and enthusiasm for learning. Academic backgrounds may vary (no background in finance or accounting is required), however candidates must be comfortable with basic financial concepts and enjoy quantitative work.
