Do you want to be part of a talented global team? Are you instinctively entrepreneurial and ambitious in nature? If you're determined to succeed, then we have a very exciting opportunity for you to help you reach your potential by joining one of the leading teams in the industry.

Join Macquarie Asset Management's Real Asset platform, a leading global infrastructure asset manager that is part of the Macquarie Group.

You will join the Real Assets team based in London; a team, with a focus on the Digital Infrastructure sector. The team is well established with several companies under management and has a significant upcoming dealflow and will be highly active in deploying capital into new investments. Macquarie invests with purpose and puts a strong focus on best practices in operational and ESG performance in its investment framework.

You will be an integral member of the European infrastructure team with exposure across the full life-cycle of investments; primarily working on investment opportunities but also supporting the asset management of portfolio businesses, refinancings, restructurings and the sourcing of new investment opportunities. Here you will work with senior management both within Macquarie as well as at portfolio companies to identify and pursue transaction opportunities and support the execution of strategic value creation initiatives.

Operating as a key part of the deal team, you will work closely with Macquarie colleagues and external advisors in sourcing, screening, assessing and negotiating of transactions. You will be responsible for the development of financial models, performing valuations and detailed due diligence, also including engaging in day-to-day liaison with third-party advisors. You will prepare investment papers for approval by the investment committee to ensure they make successful investment decisions in line with Macquarie's investment strategy.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Build and run detailed financial models and associated analysis, for potential acquisitions as well as existing investments;
  • Work with senior investment professionals to pursue potential acquisitions, assist with due diligence and other analysis;
  • Conduct desktop research on potential acquisitions and sector themes;
  • As part of asset management of existing investments, develop strategic direction and business plans, monitor financial and operational performance, and identify potential improvements;
  • Preparing investment approval documents and presenting to investment committee;
  • Liaising with key counterparties including advisers, lenders and corporate representatives;
  • Staying abreast of key market trends / developments across asset classes and sub-sectors, including monitoring the activities and performance of competitor companies.

The Candidate

With likely a first-rate academic background, you will have two to four years of M&A experience gained most probably within another equity investor or, possibly, a leading investment bank or strategy consultancy. Experience in the digital infrastructure sector would be an advantage.

You will bring transaction experience with advanced financial modelling and analytical skills and the ability to critically appraise companies, their markets, key value drivers and growth opportunities as well as risks. Smart, highly numerical, thoughtful and commercial, you will have strong written and oral communication skills and excellent attention to detail.

Flexible, entrepreneurial and innovative, you will have the credibility and professional polish to represent the infrastructure business of Macquarie both internally and externally at the most senior levels. On an upward career-track, you will have the ability to progress within this highly meritocratic organization.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading, ambitious team of the highest caliber where you will gain exceptional experience as an infrastructure investor.
