Research Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY
A Charlotte, NC based credit management firm focused on U.S. Broadly Syndicated Corporate Loans (“BSL”) is seeking persons with 7+ years of credit underwriting experience to fill Research Analyst positions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Make recommendations to the Investment Committee via preparation of a credit memo that will include company and industry analysis, loan covenant structure analysis, cash flow projections, evaluation of collateral adequacy, management, and the identification of key risks

•    Review credit documentation for new transactions and amendments
•    Building financial models, updating research database, tracking financial reporting
•    Perform on-going monitoring and review of existing investments including changes to their internal and external ratings
•    Maintain electronic credit files, compliance reports, and credit monitoring reports
•    Performing background industry research; Monitoring developments relevant to industry subsectors, specific companies, and impact on investment portfolios and organizing and presenting this information to senior analysts and the Investment Committee

•    Support Research generally including Portfolio Managers and Loan Trading
•    Respond to portfolio manager inquiries regarding credit concerns, market overviews, and sector changes

QUALIFICATIONS
•    Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial modeling skills
•    Exhibits solid understanding of financial statement analysis
•    Demonstrates attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy
•    Advanced user of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
•    Proficient knowledge of Bloomberg terminal functions
•    Ability to work independently, multi-task and meet tight project deadlines
•    Demonstrates highly ethical behaviors and effective interpersonal skills
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Individual desires and thrives in a team-based environment
•    MBA and/or CFA or CFA track is highly regarded
