We are working with a next generation European mid-market investor to add an Originator to the team. The firm has been on an impressive growth journey with a differentiated strategy; it takes a partnership approach to working with management teams to accelerate growth, driving transformation through product expansion, internationalisation and ambitious buy-and-build programmes. This hire comes as a part of an exciting phase of growth.
What the job involves
  • Drive and maintain origination focus across the firm through sector origination meetings and initiative, this will include optimisation of the established direct origination process (regular screening, prioritisation, and meetings)
  • In-depth analysis of existing sectors of interest, identifying key trends and themes upon which to base new investment opportunities.
  • Initial approaches to C-Suite level executives.
  • Attending events, meetings and conferences to build a network.
  • Working with portfolio companies to help identify bolt on opportunities.
  • Active contribution to weekly investment team discussions on potential investment opportunities and wider areas of investment.
Who we are looking for
  • Relevant previous experience, likely from within an expert network, consulting firm, research/origination function within corporate finance or technology sales background.
  • A strong team player with the confidence to liaise with counterparties at all levels of seniority across Europe.
  • Success in making direct approaches to senior level targets and developing dialogue, meetings, and relationships with them.
  • Understanding and experience of market assessment and business analysis.
  • Passion and enthusiasm to build relationships and understand specific niche sector markets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high levels of gravitas, ability to build rapport with management teams across Europe.
