The Impact:
S&P Dow Jones Indices is seeking a Team Lead to join our Build & Launch organization. In this role, you will manage and drive the Research & Design, Development, and Launch efforts of a product line within one of our product groups - Equity Icons, Smart Beta, FICC (Fixed Income, Commodities, Currencies/Crypto). You will play a vital role in the organization moving towards a more agile way of building and launching index solutions. You will drive adoption of agility practices and operating model by defining concrete and impactful set of OKRs; and delivering customer value. In close collaboration with the Acceleration Office and Communications, you will manage the organization to help drive behavior change. You will work closely with Finance, Governance, and other teams to track organizational metrics and manage business processes. You will embrace agility as a discipline and drive agile maturation as a change agent and agile leader.
You will report to the Chief Design Officer and lead an agile cross-functional team accountable for the execution of concept indices for a specific product line. As Team Lead, you will represent the top level of the Build & Launch organization and ensure and that you deliver concept indices efficiently and effectively to internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities:
Agile Adoption, Vision and Values:
  • Provide direction on vision, drive critical decisions, help unblock escalated issues, and visibly champion effort of transformation management strategy
  • Drive agile strategy across the organization to the right levels of leadership and teams to ensure understanding of transformation objectives
  • Key leader in successfully implementing and maturing agile while helping to drive organizational and cultural transformation changes
  • Be an ambassador for agile and a catalyst for continuous improvement - role models agile principles and behaviors
Build & Launch:
  • Working with product management, and external clients, direct index design and launch activities through detailed prioritization across functional groups such as R&D and Index Engineering for all S&P DJI-branded indices within your product line
  • Guide R&D members on the conceptualization and design of new indices and creation of research analysis on new passive investment concepts within your product line
  • Define and maintain best practice across the full lifecycle of index design (incorporating the 'voice of the customer') to final index launch
  • Manage work tools such as Jira to facilitate the efficient and effective delivery of indices in a fully transparent manner
  • Partner with Product team to identify growth opportunities and develop a prioritized robust pipeline of growth for index builds
  • Act as "voice of the end-customer" for the team. Proactively seek customer feedback to learn and better understand their needs and requirements and ensure end-to-end delivery of features
  • Own team backlog (sprint planning, prioritization, refinement) and ensure work is aligned with senior stakeholders
  • Seek input from Chapter Leads on complex, nuanced, and/or atypical matters; from new methodology steps to new infrastructure needs (e.g. the build of a new capability across R&D).
  • Own relationships across R&D, Product and functional teams and coordinates integrations with strategic business partners to ensure ongoing collaboration and success, including identification and support of cross-product opportunities
People & Operating Model
  • Co-create the Agile operating model for R&D Teams across the Build and Launch organization
  • Lead a cross-functional agile team responsible for transitioning the Build & Launch organization to an integrated agile methodology
  • Partner with Acceleration Office to mentor Build & Launch organization on scaled agile practices that promote innovation, rapid delivery and iteration, methodology sustainment and pragmatism
  • Champion and cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and ambitious culture that seeks out diverse viewpoints, encourages risk-taking and learning, and rewards great teamwork, leveraging the diverse expertise found in cross-functional Build & Launch Teams
Financial & Operations
  • Create clear measures of success that correspond to the Build & Launch group goals, communicate progress across the team, group, chapters, and division, and ensure an ongoing understanding of impact
  • Develop mutually agreed OKRs tied to the financial/productivity goals of the Product Group and measured on a quarterly basis and resulting in actions and related business results achieved
  • Actively participate business management processes to set work priorities and resolve dependencies across teams and groups
  • Work across Build & Launch Team Leads and Chapter Leads to amalgamate (where necessary) OKRs and other initiatives
  • Inspire and empower team to deliver business outcomes against priorities and OKR's
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal and Index Governance to protect analytical firewalls while also optimizing operational excellence
What we are looking for:
Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree, MBA, or equivalent experience required
  • 10-15+ years of experience in R&D roles or related
  • 5+ years of successfully delivering business solutions on an aggressive schedule and/or technology related experience
  • Extensive industry knowledge about most impactful trends and future direction of the core index, asset, wealth, and capital market industries
  • Establish brand and reputation in the index industry ecosystem
Critical experiences:
  • Previous experience in R&D leadership positions with proven track record managing the R&D lifecycle, from research, concept indices, to finalized design
  • Experienced in the design and use of index engineering platforms across asset classes and strategies
  • Demonstrated experience championing organizational change initiatives - model right behaviors, create a shared sense of purpose, leadership, and accountability
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural and cross-functional effectiveness - experience managing and collaborating with multiple teams, coordinating across different cross-functional initiatives and reaching consensus with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills in a team setting including extended teams without having formal organizational hierarchy

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary for this position is $160,000 - $200,000 depending on experience. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
