Financial Control Division
Hang Seng's Financial Control function works closely with the Bank's stakeholders, including business partners, shareholders, regulators and external examiners. We function as their accountants and business partners in providing comprehensive information on financial management, financial planning, financial reporting and compliance, capital planning and reporting, financial control, tax advisory, insurance finance, and treasury and investment finance.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Assistant Accounting Risk Analysis Manager.
Principal responsibilities
  • Ensure and maintain the quality of IFRS 9 Impairment assessment for financial reports and analysis across owned regions and entities
  • Assist the team in adherence to the Exposure Reconciliation Framework and meets all periodic reporting deadlines
  • Assist to prepare for HASE IFRS 9 Impairment Committee Meeting on quarterly basis, developing broad relationships with key stakeholders, across a range of internal and external functions including out-sourced service provider
  • Assist and take initiative to smooth and enhance the impairment assessment process, where appropriate, as SME in finance perspective
  • Provide support to Control Owner of NFR (Non-Financial Risk), to
    • ensure the adherence of IFRS 9 Classification and Measure (C&M) Framework and keep monitoring of SPPI testing results per financial standard and group policy
    • HASE finance functions for implementing the operational risk management framework according to HSBC Group guidance, mainly on First Line of Defence (1LoD) activities in IFRS 9 aspects
    • the execution of Risk & Control Assessment (RCA) Process within Finance function in HK and oversea sites
    • HASE Local and/or HSBC Group Control Office on assurance testing and managing MSII remediation where appropriate and necessary
    • internal and external audits in IFRS 9 C&M and downstream process
    • oversight the performance of outsourced services from IPAC (Impairment Production and Assessment Centre) with agreed KPIs
Requirements
Requirements
  • University degree in Accounting or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in operational accounting in banking or similar experience
  • Good communication, interpersonal, analytical and project management skills
  • Good knowledge of computerized accounting system and proficiency in Application Software
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
