S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $67,600 to $190,100. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan. Responsibilities include supporting the execution of projects by:
- Contributing to the continuing research and development of new tools for the quantitative and qualitative analyses used for ratings and ratings criteria performance, and to the wider continuing development of tools, systems and infrastructure used by the Analytic Quality & Validation function
- Assisting in the refinement of the business case and/or user requirements of any tool development
- Maintaining all AQV's analytical tools
- Identifying, in a timely basis, any relevant criteria or model issues (e.g. need for revised or new criteria)
- Working and coordinating with other functions outside Analytic Quality & Validation as required to achieve desired goals
- Developing, or helping develop high quality, well researched analysis using internal and / or external data sources to assist in the evaluation of the criteria, models or their application, including conducting various statistical / quantitative analyses in the evaluation of ratings and ratings criteria performance (e.g., back-testing and stress testing to verify the soundness of the assumptions and calibration with established benchmarks and ratings definitions).
- Helping manage projects by directing all relevant activities and maintaining a meaningful agenda
- Providing timely resolution to ad hoc matters to ensure project milestones are met
- Ensuring project members are actively engaged and able to contribute, adhere to all relevant internal protocols and adhere to documentary requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Statistics /Data Science/Mathematics or other relevant program.
- Well-rounded communication skills that implement good listening techniques, clear and concise writing style, as well as strong verbal skills.
- 2+ years of full-time relevant work experience in debt capital markets, quantitative finance, or credit analysis/research.
- Strong data gathering / data modeling experience.
- Strong proficiency with Excel & VBA, financial / analytical models, and financial data.
- Strong proficiency using scripted query languages
- Proficiency with using analytical platforms (e.g. Tableau) to visualize and report data
- Strong background in quantitative modeling and statistical inference techniques
- Strong understanding of financial markets and their relationship to S&P Global products.
- Diligent and intellectually curious self-starter with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.
- Team player, focusing on collaboration and adapting to the demands of a diverse multi-cultural team.
- Adept at managing multiple tasks and adhering to regular deadlines.
- MBA or another relevant post-graduate degree is a plus.
- Strong proficiency with MATLAB, R, and/or Python is a plus.
- Strong proficiency using scripted query languages is a plus.
