PIMCO is seeking a senior Portfolio Manager to join its growing private credit team, to be based in either our Newport Beach, CA or New York office . This individual will be directly involved in sourcing, evaluating, underwriting and managing of private credit investments. This individual will interact across our investment organization; including Portfolio Management professionals within our private credit alternatives platform, as well as across the firm's corporate research group.

Responsibilities
  • Source and evaluate new transactions, pre-screen transactions, conduct due diligence, prepare credit approval memos, pitch transactions to credit committee in order to obtain credit approval, negotiate and review legal documentation, and participate in deal closing
  • Manage portfolio accounts - monitor performance and covenant compliance, prepare periodic/annual reviews, examine amendments and waiver requests, provide performance updates to managers, identify and act on warning signals, participate in portfolio reviews
Requirements
  • 8-15 years of relevant work experience; prior experience should ideally include an investment banking analyst program, with a focus on leveraged finance or restructuring
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leveraged finance/middle market lending or leading the underwriting and execution effort on debt transactions at commercial banks
  • Must have private markets experience
  • Prior experience leading negotiations of credit agreements/legal documentation
  • Ideally some buy-side experience in a private markets capacity would be preferred
  • Strong prior experience in credit analysis and financial modeling
  • Strong academic credentials and achievement
  • Experience managing tasks with minimal direction and an ability to make preliminary decisions in a short timeframe
  • Good communicator, strong written and oral presentation abilities; needs to be persuasive and credible
PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.

Salary Range: $ 265,000.00 - $ 345,000.00
