POSITION OVERVIEW
- The Equity Research Associate will report to the Chief Investment Officer and assist the CIO and other sector analysts in evaluating current and potential equity investments. This will include building and maintaining financial models as well as assisting in the production of internal research materials. We are looking for candidates with strong analytical capabilities who have the potential to take on additional responsibility over time and be an integral part of the investment process at Middleton.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and update financial models and valuation tables
- Support sector analysts with the production of internal research materials
- Assist the investment committee with portfolio monitoring and performance analyses
- Assist the investment committee with ad hoc research projects as needed
- Update macroeconomic data used in internal investment strategy discussions
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in economics or finance; other quantitative majors are encouraged to apply if they have demonstrated interest in equity research
- 0-3 years of financial industry experience
- Progress towards CFA will be viewed favorably
- Strong analytical capabilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intellectual curiosity
- Self-aware; comfortable “being wrong”
- Exceptional attention to detail and the time management skills and adaptability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience using FactSet or Bloomberg preferable but not required
